Great cat door - don't let the size fool you -- even my big boy fat cat can hustle through this (since he knows his food bowl is on the other side.) Not too hard to install.

I finally found a cat door that atatches both pieces together and not one side stuck to the door with double sided sticky tape. These doors are very easy to install. The only thing they could improve on is to send a paper template out on the opening size. It is a little tricky to mark off the door frame itself. All the little flanges on the back need to be notched. I would reccommend this door.

We have feral cats that people have dumped and needed to let them in a shed when weather is bad, Shed door can't be propped open, so got this cat door. In one day they learned to use it - even the biggest one - that looks like a medium sized dog - had no problem in using it. It is non threatening to them, and easy for them to use. It works well. Used rigid insulation to finish the fit of the door to the shed wall. Built a "stair" area so cats can go in and out without having to jump for it.

I bought this to fit in a window as access to an outdoor enclosure for my cats. I built a simple frame for this purpose and it worked well. What is not in the description is that it has 4 settings on the lock: open, closed, in only and out only. This makes it even more attractive, I think, and so buyers should be aware of it. The lock is plastic and will likely break eventually, but at this price, it would not be a big deal to replace it. I will probably buy another one shortly, in case they decide to change the dimensions, as the hard part is building the frame and another one of the same size could be substituted easily. I think the 12 pound maximum might be off - any cat whose girth is 18-19 inches or less could squeeze through, but any larger, you would need a larger door. I have a 13 pounder who can fit through easily - the 17-pounder, not so much.

    • A. both of my cats weigh around 12 lbs and seem to have extra room, kinda depends on your kitty, if he has chubbiness that moves he will, otherwise might go one size bigger, i would take the measurements, and cut out a "pattern" on paper and see if he can fit before i ordered it

    • A. Cats are pretty slinky. My cat is 8 or 9 lbs and it's no problem. 15lbs would be a tight fit. If your training this cat to use it, I would get a bigger door. Just an opinion.

Hi, is the door see thru or is it white? I don't want to be able to see in my laundry room from my kitchen. Thanks

    • A. The door is "clear as glass" see through. Only the frame of the pet door is white. All I do is clean the flap occasionally with glass cleaner to keep it this way. Something to consider is that cats may not be as inclined to use a pet door that they cannot see through. I had this problem to happen to me when the flap to my old 14 yr. old pet door became opaque over the years. Some of my cats wouldn't use it anymore until I replaced their door with new one with a crystal clear flap. Now everybody's happy!

    • A. The frame is opaque white, but the actual door is clear. You might try putting some contact paper on the flap - it would be washable, pretty much permanent, and not affect the use of the door. Most hardware stores carry this in a few different patterns. Also, if you install the door near the floor, as I assume you would, you would have to get down on all fours to look through it - the opening is only 6" square.
