After doing some research I narrowed down the bikes to this one, or the Mongoose xr-75. I tested the Mongoose at walmart and liked it but not the price compared to the huffy price. Since I am not an avid bike rider, I didn't want to waste money on a phase. So I purchased this bike. To my disbelief concrete is softer than this bike seat. I couldn't ride this bike more than two blocks and my butt was aching. I had to go back to the store and purchase a Scwhinn comfort seat(by the way its awsome). Also changing gears is terrible and the handling is poor. Maybe I purchased a defect bike or I just got what I paid for but in any case don't waste your money on this bike even if your a casual rider. I would recommend to go with the mongoose xr-75 or a Scwhinn, they get good reviews.

I bought this bike to start riding roads and bike paths. I live in mountainous area and it does just fine. I purchased a different seat becuase the stock seat was uncomfortable. I have been riding for six weeks and have had no problems with changing gears and loosing the chain. I would recomend this for a starter bike. I also faithfully ride every other day.

Pedal too close to front tire

My daughter's friend had this bike for years. It was out of stock in store, so we ordered it online. (But looks like the design has changed since). The assembly instructions are very very poor, but for me it was easy to assemble as I had all the tools needed. On the first ride itself, my daughter started complaining about her foot getting in the way while turning. The front tire is too close to the pedals. Though I lost a dollar on shipping, it was very easy to go to the nearest Walmart and return this bike (one plus point over Amazon return). While in store, we tried "Road Master" and "Next" brand bike selling for same price. Both seems good. My daughter chose Next, and has been riding for last one week without complaining.

Great Starter Bike / Bad Seat

Having a bad knee and no longer being able to run, I decided to use bike riding to help me get back into shape as there is less stress on my knees. I had an old Roadmaster that would have been about $125.00 to repair. Not wanting to purchase a very expensive bike until I am sure that I am committed to riding each day, it seemed smarter to buy a bike that was less expensive than the repair to the old one would be. I have taken this bike out a few times already and have been pleased with it's performance. The seat, however, was very painful. Thankfully, I had purchased a great seat for my old bike, and I just switched it over to this one. Now the bike is perfect for my present needs! I would definitely recommend this bike as a starter - just make sure to buy a new seat!

Cheep

This bike is a cheep bike. This example really proves it matters who puts the bike together. It shifted poorly. With in a week the petal fell off. The handle grips were coming off every time I griped them. The seat is hard so when I bought it I right off bought the bell memory cushion seat. I had to take the first one back. The second one was put together better. It shifts well the grips were staying on and it seemed I had gotten a good bike. But after a couple of weeks my plastic petal broke. So I purchased some new petals cause the bike seemed okay. Then my Left petal started to fall off again. Now if I go on a bike ride I carry a wrench with me to tighten it back up when it falls off. I am going to get to the bottom of this or find out if I can still use my money back guarantee. But all in all Walmart was really good about the exchange. I bought another junky bike at Meijer and they did not want to exchange it even though it was within their policy of 90 days.
