If you cannot drill into the surround then you will not be able to mount this drying rack. The packaging contains a template and the following instructions:
INSTALLATION:
1. Cut out template from this panel.
Use to mark hole position on wall.
2. Level.
3. For wood surface: drill 1/8” pilot holes.
For hollow walls: drill hole to accomodate plastic anchors.
Insert anchors into holes.
4. Position bracket with hole to top. Mount using provided screws.
5. Slide dryer into brackets for use.

how does this attach to a wall? I want to use it in a bathtub surround and I can't drill into that.

can it be mounted outdoor on the balcony?

While this model does not fold down, it extends out in increments up to 14.5 inches.

Does it fold down for storage or does it remain extended

Had absolutely NO PROBLEM with installation...was done in 5 minutes...LOVE IT...I recommend this highly....

Wonderful product

I have had one for nearly 30 years.  I love that it folds up out of the way.  It's useful for hanging items you do not want to put in the dryer.  I use it for underwear, bras, sweaters, etc.

Perfect for a tight space

I love it.
It was easy to install. Strong enough to hold lots of items. Telescopes out as many lines as needed. The lines are a metal bar wrapped in rubbery plastic so it doesn't get fabrics caught on it. It seems quite sturdy. I put it up in my laundry room for easy access.

(Hint) After assembly put tape around it (lengthwise) to keep the metal bars in place, and then fasten it to the wall and remove the tape). Clothes pins not required but helpful.

Best Indoor Clothes line ever.

This is our third one. We wore out the first one and replaced it after 15 years. The new one was installed on our boat and we just sold the boat. bought a newer bigger boat and bought on for that boat. Great for hanging wet towels coats etc. very strong. excellent product.

I've only been using this for about a week, and so far I am very impressed with this product. I was a bit skeptical of the skinny dowels but other reviewers indicated it was very sturdy and I am finding it to be so. The most I've had on it at one time was 2 pairs of mens jeans, 2 towels, and a hoodie. Because its telescopic it requires very little room.

Laundry rack needs very little space

Perfect for  the small space left in our laundry room. 
 It doesnt lay flat against wall so Im not sure it will hold up without replacing hollow wall hangers provided or will need a stronger pair. We just installed

Small space solution

I installed this in my laundry room, it looks cheap, it holds light stuff, don't put anything heavy like a towel in the far end or this dryer will start to bend. It's just to hang underwear or some shirts, not impressed with the product.
