Rated 5 out of 5 by steph Awesome Machine I wanted to try this first on my high traffic areas. I knew that I would have to make several passes in different directions. With each pass, I sucked up the water and rinsed. This did an amazing job! I added some concentrated borax with the cleaning solution. 01/02/2013
Rated 1 out of 5 Tool Caddy a Joke I received as a gift and have only just unboxed it. Therefore my review is not of the unit itself but the tool caddy and the way the handle attaches to the unit. The tool caddy is an absolute joke and whoever designed it should be fired. The hose just pops off when you place it on the caddy. It's obvious that it is not defective but rather very poor design. Why would any company include something that so obviously would not work to do what it is documented and designed to do. Why would any person at Hoover accept this as a part that should be included. The company would be better served by not including it as it just reflects poorly on the product overall. As for the screws that hold the handle in place. The manual says to "Tighten with screwdriver". I barely tightened the screws and the plastic started to bend. The manual should read "Do Not tighten the screws but make them very barely snug". I see in a previous review where someone commented on their handle breaking. This part should be strengthened or the documentation should be changed to show that it should not be tightened. I look forward to using the unit and hope I dont experience some of the issues that others have commented on. I am sure I will get some response saying they are sorry I am not happy with the tool caddy and how sorry they are but I know that type of response just comes from some low paid employee that really could care less whether I am happy or not. Anyway, I dont care if they are sorry. I just know that this type of thing is what causes companies to go out of business when consumers stop buying their products. 12/26/2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by SammySushi Clunky, FAIL I need to replace my Hoover Agility and this model was a big FAIL. Got 5 X 5 area done, emptied dirty water tank and brushes stopped rotating, so it was not distributing the water evenly and leaving streaks of water lines. The tank system is a pain too. Difficult to get in and out and not very stable. The carpets dried fast and I think I like the separation of the cleaning fluid from the water. If you buy the model at Home Depot, you are going to get gyped out of the stair attachment. It's not included. 11/19/2012
Rated 2 out of 5 Durability? What durability? Purchased this online on November 12, 2012. First model arrived DOA - I had suction but the spin brushes would not spin. The online retailer sent me a replacement on November 19, 2012. Since then, I have used this machine approximately 4 times to clean the carpet in my apartment. Until it stopped working, I would say that it did an admirable job of cleaning the carpet. Not fantastic or mind blowing, but sufficient for my needs. Of course, before using it I would vacuum thoroughly to remove pet hair and whatnot from the carpet. Today, just as I was finishing the main living area the brushes stopped spinning and I smelled the distinct odor of a motor burning out. I do not know what happened or why. I do know that I cleaned the machine before and after each use and made sure to clean all of the filters. On top of thoroughly vacuuming before each use, I can only blame Hoover for selling an inferior product. The machine still has suction, but it's useless without having the motor spin the brushes. Ugh. I expected better from Hoover. 11/15/2012
