LOUD ticking, too deep i loved the simplicity of the face and was excited for it's arrival. first thing i noticed was how deep it is. it came off the wall way too far. so you can't put it too high, or you're staring at the bottom edge and unfortunately, it was replacing a clock, so there was an existing hole. but forget all that... let's talk about the LOUD, LOUD, clicking of the second hand. within 5 minutes of bedtime, my girlfriend demanded that it be banished from the room. sadly, i removed the battery and put it in the living room. once active in the living room, it was quickly banished from the home completely by us both. at this price, instead of bothering with a return, i tried to open it up and put some wd-40 on the arm mechanism, but the screws on the back are not meant to ever come off, it broke and turned into a big messy tragedy, and wound up in the trash. so avoid this clock unless you want a thick chunky box sticking off your wall and noise that can ben heard from any room of your house. 06/14/2010
Like this Clock Read previous comment/rating on this clock so was leery to buy it...since I have it in my living room (and not bedroom), and almost always have either the TV or radio on, I never hear the 'ticking' of the 2nd hand....I love how clear the face is (numbers and size) and is perfect for my room. 08/22/2010
