Pretty Cabinet - Some Poor Workmanship I needed extra file storage, plus a utility drawer, so this file cabinet fit the bill. Knobs are good quality; the oak finish is nice—not glossy or shiny. The piece is sturdy and has a finished back. It came completely assembled except the casters, which were easy to attach. It’s better quality than other furniture I’ve seen at Wal-Mart. I have this cabinet next to an expensive, solid wood, cherry desk, and it holds it’s own, while the warm oak finish is a nice complement. It’s a low cabinet, and the top drawer is a bit shallow, but it holds plenty of paper and a several other small items. Shipping was extremely fast—I ordered on Tuesday, and the cabinet arrived Friday. This made the $26 shipping a little less painful (site-to-store was not available for this purchase).On the down-side, the inside upper drawer rails were not level causing the drawer to be uneven and not close properly (my husband noted this as “shoddy workmanship”). It would have been too much hassle to return the cabinet to my local store, so my husband raised one of the rails. The drawer is still not completely smooth and level while opening and closing, but I can live with it.On the bright side, JC Penney currently has this exact same cabinet for $349, and Target has it priced a little higher than Wal-Mart, so I saved money either way. 10/04/2008
Not the quality I expected Cabinet was solid and well constructed, however the finish was uneven and sloppy and the wood had some surface flaws.Attaching the casters and drawer knobs was easy 01/14/2011
Attractive This is a great piece of furniture. I could not have made a better choice. Quality is great. Draws slide in and out smoothly. I love it, but feel it is a little pricey. My only complaint would be that I expected the filing draw to be adjustable where when opening the draw toward me that the letter size files would also be facing me. The files go in where I have to move the cabinet to the side to be able to see the names on the files. Since this has wheels it works, but would be better if the files could go in either way. 06/28/2009
