I have 2 of them. One is quiet with a little noise noticeable at low speeds 1-4 but hardly above that. The other is defective with a lot of noise. WalMart makes it easy to exchange products like this. I'm doing this now as I like the fan: small footprint, remote control, attractive design, etc.

I had a pedistal fan that was really loud. Overall I think this is a fairly quiet fan. I like my fan to make some noise so it drowns out some early morning outdoor noise. I find this to be a soothing sound.

If you have a leaf blower take it outside and blow out the dust. Or a blow dryer.

I guess you're talking about a build-up of dust, etc. on the internal fan, etc.? Using a vacuum cleaner with a narrow and thin extension should work. Even without being able to insert the extension into the fan should provide some relief. Give it a try. I haven't had mine long enough to have to worry about this.

Try using Q-tips to remove dust build up.

If need be I could email you one but it sounds like your fan is defective or the remote control receiver is being manipulated in some manner perhaps by random signals. If it is continual, it's likely not random.
