Bought one many years ago from Radio Shack. Liked it so well when it quit working I had to get another. Reviews very good for this one. Fair price. Works great so far with much more than my RS model. Has Sound volume and different choices in sounds. Only drawback: large for a nightstand but I can live with that.

Much Better Than Expected

I bought this for our 21 month old grandson so he would take naps at our house, when I put it on the brook sound in is a sleep in 5 minutes.  And will usually take a 2-2 1/2 hour nap undisturbed at our house.

Very relaxing

This item is amazing  (to say the least).    Close your eyes - listen to the  "rain"  or listen to the sound of a "brook".    The brook sound transforms you what seems a   mountain brook with water slowly running over rocks.    You will never go wrong - with this purchase.

Absolutely amazing...

A niece called me and said, "You may not understand this, but I am noise intolerant."  Understand?  I live it.  For those of you, who TRULY understand this, my Homedics noise machine IS the ANSWER !!!  I am on my third one only because I have one at my parents, friends house and my home.  FABULOUS machine !!!!  My friends have ordered it as well.  Just PERFECT!!!

White Noise device

I looked at several before deciding on this one. A major factor I liked was the AC/DC power. A lot of others I looked at only had USB. It also has option of battery powered. This machine is easy to use - even at night with low light to adjust volume or sound. Right out of box, plug in, easy to use. Six sounds, volume adjuster, choices of timer. I like that you can also keep it on all time time. I got this because my husband is a restless sleeper this has really helped him get a better night sleep.

I've only had the machine a feed months. 
  I have noisy neighbors... college kids, little kids, %26 I use only the white noise setting. However the decibels are not as loud as I personally need to block out the noise (my old one from Brookstone was great for many years. It canceled out all the noise except neighbors with heavy feet, stomping overhead). This Homedics, even at the highest setting, doesn't cancel out nearly as much noise. But for someone who only needs light noise cancellation, or enjoys the other nature sounds, it seems like it could be good. And certainly portable. I plug it in though.
