I work part time on computers and this power screwdriver was just what I needed for taking out all of the case screws. The clutch also keeps it from stripping these tiny screws. The two speeds work out fine also. I really like this Hitachi Power Screwdriver. A battery will last for several days using it like I do. I highly recommend it.

As a RC car/truck hobbiest, I am so glad that I purchased this awesome power tool. With so many screws on the RCs, it gets very long and tiring. Great features and extra battery too. Just love it.

GREAT RC HOBBY TOOL

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased one of these cordless screwdrivers back in March of 2019, because my boss had one, but his was the Hitachi brand. We are electricians, and so I am constantly having to use this screwdriver to take off and replace outlets, light switches, panel covers, etc. These screwdrivers actually have unbelievable power that you wouldn't expect to have, and the batteries for these screwdrivers hold out, and last forever before you switch it out and charge. If and when my cordless screwdriver goes out, I will turn around and buy another one just like it. Now to be completely honest I haven't ever had or used another type or brand of cordless screwdriver to compare it to, and I don't plan purchasing any other brand. All of my tools whether they are cordless or corded are the Metabo brand. I'm a huge fan of Metabo Hpt.

Extremely handy

This is the 3rd one I have purchased over the last 7 years and it is still my favorite tool. For a low voltage battery it has plenty of power and has a decent life between chargers. I look at others but keep buying hitachi.

Very convenient and a great value.

I considered DeWalt's similar products - their Gyro with Lithium Ion battery and their non-Lithium Ion power screwdriver that was more powerful (torque) but bigger and heavier. I decided to go with the Hitachi because of the lithium battery, adjustable clutch settings, charger, reliability, light weight and reviews were very very good. I have more powerful drills to power screws and such but wanted something more than a regular screwdriver. Can't beat warranty either.

Great value

Spent a bit of time trying to find the right screwdriver. Mostly intended for small tasks to speed up repetitive actions and to ease pain from arthritis. This one surprised me as much more capable and found myself using it for tasks would have normally grabbed the impact driver. The clutch is essential and for me what makes it so versatile. Battery life met all my requirements. Materials feel solid. Weight and size is good for my hands. The straight to pistol grip feature doesn't lock, so quick to switch but a couple tomes did so inadvertently.  That is about the only thing would change.

Good value and great tool

Am pleased with the performance of this screw driver.

However, am not pleased that the battery lost its charge when not in use... sitting on a self in my garage. This may be the fault of the lithium battery, as Ohio weather has been very hot and humid -- in the low 90s -- for the past few days. After charging, the battery worked okay.

Nice tool... with one reservation

I have gone through too many cordless screwdrivers where the rechargeable battery simply stopped taking a charge and could not be replaced for a reasonable price, often absurdly early in the life of the tool. Thus my main goal with this purchase was a rechargeable cordless screwdriver with interchangeable batteries so that when one fails, I can still do work and the tool itself is not hooked up into the recharging station. The Hitachi seemed to be the only one in its price range that offered these features. The tool is still too new to have any opinion about the endurance or strength of these batteries.

In basic operation it is a normal cordless screwdriver, not much different than its many predecessors. I do like the choice of speeds. The adjustable torque strikes me as a gimmick.

The one negative is that the actual screwdriver bits fit far too loosely in the tool. They fall out when the tool faces down. And a special chuck that holds very small drills intended for use with cordless screwdrivers flops around too much for work of any precision. That is the big negative with the Hitachi. I have never seen a cordless screwdriver with such a loose fitting for the bits and attachments.

Why I bought the Hitachi and what are the pluses and minuses.

Defective

I purchased the product mostly because of the value and the positive reviews. However, after i put it to use i was very disappointed with the lack of power, the fact that it would pinch my hand when i switched the hinged body from angle to straight, poor lighting of the target unless the drill was oriented within a 45 degree portion of the 360 degrees. I realize as per the instructions that it doesn't hold a full charge for several cycles but mine wouldn't hold a good charge after 6 charging cycles.

I returned the product for a refund
