i did the research in google, it's the smartest choice to buy it, by the way it's a great TV.
some times i dont believe the brand ; i only believe my eyes and the truth that what i saw and i used, so my conclusion it's a good tv.

I took the chance and am happy I did. This tv works great! Better picture than my former 42" Vizio
Highly recommend, have had zero problems and for the price you just can't beat it...

i took a chance.
for the price you can`t go wrong.(i thought)
this is my second 42" tv
and this tv has problems. first off.
when you play a dvd or blueray a little screen pops up telling you 1080p hdmi1
you keep closing it and it pops up again 3-4 time before movie starts.
picture is very gridy.like there a screen in front of the movie.
it blinks with white colors.and walls like dotted
when people move fast there like in slow motion blur.
i could go on but why.if this tv was on sale for 100.00 i won`t buy it for a spare room.
this 42'' stay away from no runaway from. it`s junk

Purchased this last week and it got delivered yesterday. The picture is blury and if there are any words on the screen, it can not be read (which means if you have a menu guide for show listings, you can't read it, or if you're watching the news, the scroll updates at the bottom can not be read). I am returning it...very disappointed that Walmart would sell this to customers. Will buy another TV but not this brand and not refurbished.

I have watched 2 Samsungs for a few years and now had to get a new TV as personal status has changed and my fiances also changed. After watching the Hisence side by side to a Samsung on display at the local Walmart I could not see very much difference, and the price of this refurbished unit $289. was several hundred dollars less than any name brand. I have been watching it for about a month and very happy, Oh yes, the extended warranty for three years is like $30.00, a bargain. I have paid 5 to 10 times that amount for the Samsung warranty that I have had.
I do not believe you will be disappointed.

A great TV for the price. Picture, sound, features, all exceeded expectations. Also, you can hook your laptop up to it to view Hulu; you tube, or whatever on the big screen. 4 year warranty for less than 30 bucks extra. What more could you want?

I of course had my doubts because I had never heard of "Hisense" but our living room TV went out and we needed a quick, cheap replacement. Considering that it was big enough to fill in our entertainment center and over $100 cheaper than it's brand new counterpart, we dove in and took the chance and so far haven't regretted it. (knock on wood ;)) The fine print on commercials are hard to read unless you're using HDMI or component cables, which allow for 1080p on my satellite receiver, and the sound is OK unless you turn it all the way up. Taking everything about this TV into consideration, I would not have paid $400 for the brand new one. I scored this one when it was $278 in September 2012 and that was a good buy, but I personally don't think this TV is worth over $400. It would be better if it had 120Hz refresh rate and an audio output but that's the only really bad thing I have to say about it. Setup was a breeze, the stand and menu options. So if you don't have a lotta cheese and you need a medium sized TV, I recommend this 42" REFURBISHED one, just wouldn't spend over $400 on a new one. Oh, and I don't know about anyone else but I did not receive an owner's manual. I don't really NEED it, but would like to have gotten one. Good luck to all who are looking for a new TV, apparently it's a crapshoot, even with brand new products... Always opt for the longest warranty!

This TV is great. I wasn't expecting much with a price of under $300 but this is just excellent. With 1080p and 3 HDMI inputs it is a wonderful TV for a family. The sound is good, but it is sometimes less than laud. Once I get a surround sound system it will be even better.

I was a little skeptical because this tv was refurbished and very cheap, but when I set it up I was shocked to find out that it had an amazing picture (I do have HDTV) awesome sound, and it even has usb ports that aren't listed on the specs. Overall this was an amazing purchase and I am so happy I decided to buy this tv instead of the more expensive Vizio.

Never heard of Hisense before this. The picture is better than my 42" Vizio. I've never bought a refurbished TV before. I got it to replace a huge old CRT TV in my bedroom. Very satisfied so far.

It does what I bought it for, I'm able to send the sound through my stero system and stream
movies from the web with my small laptop, remote mouse and keyboard, making my Family room / office a great place to work and hangout. I feel that this Hisense 42" TV will last as long as any other brand.

i went for it,a 42 inch lcd for $289 yea,and i lucked out,tv came in brown box,with stand and remote,set up was easy,when you get HD tv shows its great.1080P.,sound a little low,but its a great deal.

It would be nice if a product could be examined and OKd before we travel a good distance to pick it up. I'll never buy a referbished item again!

When i first got the tv i noticed that the picture quality was okay. i only watched the tv at night and about two weeks after i bought it the tv picture cut off. i returned it and got a 32' inch samsung for 30 dollars more at bust buy and im very happy with it now.

Set arrived smashed. THe screen fragments were actually sticking through the carton.
Got a refund and bought the Sanyo instead.

Picked up the tv from walmart, got it home, set it up and it is broken! the screen is shattered, but you cant tell until it is powered up. now we have to return it to walmart and wait once again for shipping.

I really like this television! If you are looking for bargain buy, this is the best buy but make sure you get the warranty though. You can never be too safe.

My son bought this same TV and I fell in love with the picture. There is nothing to fear about buying this re-certified model - it has a great picture and more than adequate sound. I don't need a lot of bells and whistles, so I can't compare it to higher priced TVs or sound systems, but it was a steal at the price I paid.
