Rated 5 out of 5 by Rugged and Comfortable I have purchased 3 pair of these over the past 5 years. They have been very durable, comfortable and held up well. If you do a lot of walking or work outdoors these are the shoe for you. 03/28/2010

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hubby's new work boots! I surprised my husband with these since his work boots are literally falling apart and would not have bought these himself! For the price, I was VERY please at the quality! He put a memory foam insert in them to help with the comfort for standing for long periods of time. His only comment was, "I just need to break them in a little" which I know means they aren't perfect YET! I don't wear shoes I have to "break in", but men are different I guess! Overall, these are great for the price considering how much good quality work boots cost. He wears these to work around our farm and they seem to be perfect for this purpose. Can't say how they would be for someone who wears them everyday to work in for 8-10 hours. 02/12/2011

Rated 1 out of 5 by Soles wore out in under 6 months THE SOLES WORE THOUGH IN 6 MONTHS. The new soles have these square lugs and the outline of the square is very thin and splits in just a few months. I work outside in all kinds of weather and getting my feet soaked within six months of use is rediculous. I bought these boots previously and they lasted for almost 2 years. I went to repurchase after my old pair wore out (see review under moondoggie999) but the store was out. So my Walmart store finally got these boots back in stock and I bought two pairs in my size. I noticed there were changes but I figured the quality would be the same. WRONG this is an entirely different boot with different materials, soles and boot shape/height. They obviously changed who was making the shoes from their initial run and they are a complete waste of money now. 02/07/2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Don't waste your money Don't waste your money. Only had them for 5 months and the soles of both boots come apart from the leather. Only wear them at work(work inside) and never got them wet so they shouldn't be coming apart. 11/15/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Boots Am looking to buy my third pair in about 2 years. Very comforable and last me about 10 months. I wear them everyday and am on my feet all day outside in the weather and they hold up very well. I have had other more expensive boots and have not been half as good but the problem seems to be now I am trying to get a pair and they are out of stock in all the Walmarts in my area and on-line so when I finally find them I guess will buy 2 pair. Only one small downfall is that the shoelaces that come with them don't last long so I always buy two extra pair with the boots for a couple bucs. Well worth it. 10/12/2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible Product My fiance got these boots because he had bought some from the same brand before and these particular ones said they were "improved" but they didn't even last 3 weeks! They pulled apart easily and just didn't last. Before he had a pair that lasted him over a year but these were the worst boots he has ever gotten. Please do not waste your money! 06/27/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Better Than Expected I have purchased work boots at WalMart before, these are the best I've had. My work environment is wet, I work at a truck wash and these boots have lasted 6 months. I have bought pricier boots and these out lasted them. When I first wore them my feet hurt soo bad, my old boots had o support but now i love wearing these boots. 02/27/2010

Rated 1 out of 5 by Boot Gone Bad I have owned 6 pairs of this boot in the last 10 years. I went to buy a new pair this week and was totally disappointed. Needless to say I did not buy a new pair. This boot has undergone a major change recently, it has been cheapened. This boot used to Rock. They have done away with the superior hard sole for a cheap EVA sole, plus the boot has lost its leather tongue for a canvas tongue. 12/09/2011
Rated 1 out of 5 Way to ruin a decent product by cheapening it up! I have worn through 3 pairs of this boot's predecessor over the past 3 years of so and was happy with their comfort, look and durability for the price (about $55). This new model is about $20 cheaper if you buy them online but have soles that are hard as a rock and weird insoles that make it feel like you're walking on a blister. Also the tongue is now faced with ugly canvas instead of leather. I'd gladly pay the extra $20 for the old style but will not buy the new style again. 08/30/2011

Rated 5 out of 5 by Superb boots! I have had these boots (Herman Survivors, Tracer) for over 10 years and have recently bought another pair. A solid and comfortable boot. Can be used as work boots anywhere. Only one small problem: The shoe laces in the boots does not last long and they seem to cut on the eyelets of the boot. Getting stronger laces did the trick!! Rated 4 out of 5 by Fantastic Boot for the price! I bought a pair of these boots almost two years ago and wow have I been impressed. There has been both good and not so good things that I have noticed but overall a tremendous value on a good work boot. I liked the way they looked with the dark brown leather and the dark metallic boot-lace guides. When trying them on for the first time I noticed that the size was off. I usually wear a size 10 or 10.5 but with this boot I needed a 9.5, no problem, just something to be aware of. I was able to break in the boot in a couple days of working in the heat, it was very comfortable after that. The steel toe is not overly heavy and did not hurt my feet. The leather is definitly waterproof especially at the beginning but after almost two years I do notice the wetness soaking through now on heavy rainy days. The boot-lace guides must be a little rough on laces because I have broke at least 3 laces on each boot. Buy a couple extra boot laces when purchasing. The only thing bad I have to say about this boot is that some of the stitching eventually split in the same places on both boots. To describe where - it was on either side of the steel toe area on both boots exactly in the same areas - right where the edge of the steel toe meets the stitches on each side of the foot. This of course causes a hole where liquid and dirt can get in. Its a hole about as big as a finger and I can touch my socks. This hole appeared after about a year to a year and a half of daily use. I am sad I didn't buy a couple extra pairs because I can't find my size at my local store and they only have full sizes online like 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 etc and i need a 9.5 Some extras showed up at my store after a brief dryspell and I am hoping they get more. If they do I am buying 5 pairs! 07/07/2011

Rated 1 out of 5 by Never this dissatisfied w a Wal-Mart purchase I've been buying work boots from Wal-Mart for 5 years. I go through them quickly so this likely accounts for 6-8 pairs. Unfortunately, this was the most incredibly uncomfortable boot that I have ever worn. Since I had left my usual pair at home, I had to wear these for two weeks. They never broke in and my feet cry out in horror whenever I look at these boots. 11/17/2010

After 3 years of grinding work from Canada to Brazil and all points in between they have more than endured. They are for the money one of the best values on the market. I could buy/an afford about any steel toed boot but when you can get this quality for this price, it is a no brainer! 08/28/2011
