The quality issue i have found is that the bottom of the dress is not hemmed,merely turned under and sewed...so ravely edges are visible. I would not wash this in a machine. Item states to surface wash and i would stick with that. I put lots of toys that say not to put in machine...however i would follow the diections this time,i do not think the toy would survive!This was a gift for my 6.5 year old and she loves it,so it was a good purchase in my opinion. 12/31/2012
