Great Betta Tank for Children and Adults I love tanks and tropical fish. But my true love is Bettas. They are incredible little fish. I got this tank so I could carry my Betta back and forth to work with me, (bringing him home on the weekends), and it is everything that I had hoped it would be.The bottom of the tank is clear flexible plastic, with a heart shaped viewing window in the front and the back of the tank. The top is hard plastic. There is a 50 cent piece sized hole in the back of the lid for feeding. There are two tiny lights inside the lid, which are powered by batteries. The lights are so small, that the batteries last a long time, but it provides ample light in the tank for the Betta and gives nice ambiance to a dark room.There is a carrying handle, however, after you add 1 gallon of water and gravel, it does become quite heavy. I have used the handle and it seems sturdy enough, but don't really recommend carrying it around that way.The lid screws on similar to a jar, so if there some added protection if the tank gets tipped and the tank itself seems large enough to keep a full sized betta happy and healthy.I would definitely recommend this to anyone seeking to house a betta, guppies or fish similar to neon tetras. I personally am looking at getting two or three more of these tanks for myself. 04/06/2012
Great option for traveling with a fish! We purchased this for my daughter's betta fish, so we could take her (the fish) with us when we go out-of-town. Used it for the first time this weekend, and it is indeed a very handy little carrier. The light is a neat extra feature, and it was nice to have something with a sturdy handle, lid, and base, so we didn't have to worry about it tipping over in the vehicle or water sloshing out. Definitely recommend. Only reason I gave it a 4 star on value is because we have since seen this product for less money on other websites. 05/13/2012
