It looks bigger than 5 gallons, the light & filter it comes with are great & my betta loves it as much as I do!!!The filter IS a tad strong for a betta, but once you baffle it, it's all good! :)Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with this tank kit!!!! 08/07/2010

I keep live, low light plants in all of them and the light bulb does a great job keeping them looking good. The filter is easy to baffle and you can replace it if you ever want a change. It's not integrated, which is nice. A 25 watt heater fits nicely along the short side and keeps all my bettas toasty and healthy. Weekly water changes and vacuuming are a cinch with the pop up lid. It's an awesome tank for the money. Highly recommend. 11/29/2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by danidigs830 Perfect starter tank This is a perfect starter tank. We bought it for our 2 year old's room & he loves it. It definitely looks bigger than 5 gallons. The light is a little bright, but he goes to sleep with it on (rather than his night light) watching his fish so its not too bad. I did have to turn down the filter so the fish weren't getting pushed across the tank from the water coming down into the tank. We decided on guppies & neon tetras and added a few decorations, gravel, heater, and an air pump. Overall this is the best I found from searching in local pet stores and online. The only thing I don't like is the small "feeding door". It should be a little bit wider because it is difficult to get the flakes in without spilling them. Its just a bit awkward the way it opens. But its easy enough to lift the whole lid to let my son feed the fish so I would definitely recommend this product. 05/29/2011

It wasworth the trial and error in getting Azul a placewhere he could have a warm heater put in. Itsreally a beautifully shaped Tank and brightensup our living room. Would totally recommendfor first time Betta owners...as I was talkedinto this, by a 10 yr. old, because he lookedat us at the pet store! 11/08/2010
