Hauppauge 1192 WinTV-HVR-1950 Hybrid Video Recorder 1 1
Works okay, but.... I am using the WinTV- hvr-1950 connected to a Directv sat box connected using the S-Video and Audio cables. The computer I am using is a Hewlett-Packard HPE-350t running Windows 7 64 bit processor. I had no problem in installing the device, loading the software and configuring the WinTV. I found three things that I don't like about the operation of the device. To select FM Radio stations you have to right click on the TV screen and select an FM channel. It would be nice to have a better way of opeating the Radio part of this device, similar to the way older models worked. It takes way too long to change channels on the TV. The delay is approximately 10 seconds after pushing the button for the TV to respond. The Snapshot feature doesn't work with either JPG or BMP selected. It actually saves the file, but the file won't open to any device I have for reading those type files. Overall I am satisfied with the device. I have been using WinTV devices both internal and USB devices since 1995 and have had no real serious problems with them. An upgraded software package for this device would make it a more usable device. 10/30/2010
