About this item

"Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone": The magical adventure begins when Harry Potter is invited to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. "Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets": Cars fly, trees attack and a mysterious house-elf warns Harry that he is in great danger as he returns for his second year at Hogwarts. "Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban": Harry must confront soul-sucking Dementors, outsmart a werewolf and learn the truth about the escaped prisoner of Azkaban - Sirius Black. "Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire": Harry must overcome a deadly dragon, fierce water demons and an enchanted maze only to find himself in the cruel grasp of He Who Must Not Be Named. "Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix": When few believe that Lord Voldemort has returned, Harry must secretly train his friends for the wizarding war that lies ahead. "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince": Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. "Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows", the seventh and final adventure in the "Harry Potter" film series, is a motion picture event, told in two full-length parts. Part 1 begins as Harry, Ron and Hermione set out on their perilous mission to track down and destroy the Horcruxes - the keys to Voldemort's immortality. On their own and on the run, the three friends must now rely on one another more than ever. But there are Dark Forces in their midst that threaten to tear them apart. Part 2: In the epic finale, the battle between the good and evil forces of the wizarding world escalates into an all-out war. The stakes have never been higher and no one is safe. But it is Harry who may be called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice as he draws closer to the climactic showdown with Lord Voldemort. It all ends here.

Subtitles: English SDH (Subtitles for Deaf and Hearing Impaired), French and Spanish.

Hours of Revealing Materials, Including Additional Scenes, Interviews with J.K. Rowling and the Filmmakers, Tours of Hogwarts Secrets, Movimaking Magic Uncovered, Interactive Journey through "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1", "The Seven Harrys" and a Revealing Round of Golf with Rupert Grint and Castmates.

This is a great set of the Harry Potter movies. I originally had a collection of various DVD disks with inconsistent special content. None of them were Blu-ray. I finally traded them in thinking that I would not be interested in viewing them again. I was wrong! So when I saw the ad for a complete Blu-ray set of Harry Potter films at a reasonable price I ordered it. The widescreen presentation is good as well as the special feature content. But best of all is having the added enhancement of Blu-ray visual and sound quality. This is a worthwhile addition to my DVD/Blu-ray collection.

  • From what I understand, this release does not contain the "ultimate editions" of the movies, only the basic versions. That means some movies in the set might have a few "extras," but not all of them. Sometime in late 2012 WB is supposed to release the "ultimate edition" box set of all 8 movies which will include all of the bells and whistles. I also read that WB will stop shipping new units of all currently sold HP movies to stores at the end of this year, in order to ramp up demand for the 2012 ultimate box set release, which I'm sure will cost significantly more than this box set. So, if you would like all 8 movies in a set now, for a cheaper price, and don't care if it has "everything" then this is a great option. If you truly want all the extras, and don't care about waiting or paying more, then you might want to wait until next holiday season to make a purchase. If you do some web searching about this collection you'll read more details about the things I've mentioned.
