GREAT seat for my little dude!

GREAT seat! Feels really solid, without weighing too much. My son (38lbs) fits great, and is easily secured into place. The harness tightening/loosening is smooth, and i really like that i don't have to fight with the harness straps to adjust the headrest height... just squeeze the handle and pull up the headrest to the height you need. i actually did this after the seat was installed (forgot to before...). Really happy with this seat, fabric is soft and "cushiony" so he stays comfortable, and the fact that it changes to a high back and no back booster, means i wont have to go spend more money on another seat once he outgrows the harness limits.

I was about to order a more expensive seat known for its narrowness, because I needed to be able to fit a third carseat in my back seat. Before I make any car seat purchases, I check with a friend who is certified in car seat use, and who tests and evaluates them professionally. She recommended this Harmony Defender immediately, so I trust its safety. It is also easy to assemble, easy to adjust, and easy to install. I have two of these permanently installed in my car, and when an infant seat base occasionally needs to go between them, it fits--snugly, but fine. HIGHLY recommended!!

    Awesome! Highly Reccomend

AWESOME For once a toddler is moved to forward facing after the 2nd birthday. I have had this seat for a year. At first I was skeptical because it was a pain in the butt to adjust the crotch buckle though the "I" shaped part it is in. Once you get it put together though it is smooth sailing. I have used this seat almost every day for over a year and it is still looking awesome. Very comfy and my daughter loves it. I did remove the fabric cover piece for the crotch buckle because it was hard to buckle with it and my daughter hasn't complained. I have reccomened this seat to many people and everyone who has gotten it has loved it! Pros: The absolute EASIEST harness adjustment I have ever encountered(and I have/have had a ton of different seats). Super easy install Very easy to adjust the harness height as the child grows light good for 3 across Gender Neutral Comfortable and lots of padding Cons: Can be hard to assemble if you dont read the instructions carefully The crotch buckle is short but Harmony will send you a new one. The crotch buckle is hard to move to a different position in the "I"

    • Read your manual, if you got this seat second hand or from someone you can download the manual at http://www.harmonyjuvenile.com/index.php. It's very simple to assemble and it comes in two pieces. There are two bolts on either side of the bottom seat as well as a bar across the back of the high back. It only took me a few min. to figure it out.

    • There are clear directions in the manual. You put a bar through the back bottom and screw it it, then screw the two small bolts through the sides. Not difficult, but it would be nice if it came assembled.

    • There is a video on YouTube that makes it really easy to put together. There is a long metal rode that you put on to secure the base to the seat and then some bolts in either side. It is super easy. Took me less then 10 min.

    • Look for installation videos on YouTube. There is one that does it step-by-step out of the box.

    • it didn't need assembled. we took it out of the box took the plastic off and buckled it in.there is a bar on the bottom that needs a screw driver but im not sure why. i think its just for adjusting how straight they sit up.

What is the maximum height in this carseat using the 5 point harness? Also at what level are the straps in the maximum height position?
    by ZmcSncmomma
    • This is a VERY old question but the manual states the Max height in harness position is 57". This seat has a 1-hand, no re-thread harness height adjustment and a 9-position, 1-hand height adjustable headrest that extends to 29". SO there isn't really a "level" for the strap hole.

    • The manufacturer says 57" but I don't see a way a 57" child could sit in these harnesses. I was trying out the harnesses to see how long they would fit my tall boy (currently 45" at 4.5 yrs). I put the harnesses at the highest slot and could barely buckle my son in. The belt is not long enough. When my son is tall enough to warrant using the highest harness slots, I won't be able to buckle him in (and he is of average weight). HTH!

    • 57" and I believe the top slot is 18"
      by Katiemomof2
Was this answer helpful? (0) (0)
    • The top harness slots are 18.5". I don't think it gives a total height limit, but if you measure your child's torso height you can figure out how long they have. (Have them sit against the wall and measure from the floor to the top of their shoulders. Most kids grow 1-1.5" of torso height per year so a child with a torso height of 14" would have a good 2-3 years at least before outgrowing the harness.)

    • The box states up to 57" in harness mode, but my 6 yr old is 48" and it's too tight #see my review#. Straps are at 17.5" at max height.
