I think it is BETTER as an eyeshadow primer than an all over face primer. Maybe because eyeshadow is usually powder.

I put Sheer Envy Primer (ultra light formula) all over my face, even my eyes. I have no idea if this is recommended or not, but it works beautifully for me.

No, it wouldn't work at all. It doesn't go on smoothly--it rolls into tiny little balls all over your hands and face. It would end up making eye shadow application worse, not better.

Not sure but since it works good for foundation I think it would. I tried it once for eye shadow but the eye shadow was bad quality.

I have oily skin and with this product I definitely had creases. After a few days, I ended up switching to a different product as an eyeshadow primer.

Yes it will really reduce the shine from oil. I tend to get oily too even after I put foundation and powder on, w/ this I can last all day w/o blotting my face. Also use powder after you apply your foundation and concealer to help reduce any oil. Use the Hard Candy Welcome Matte, it is translucent and a very fine powder that does not settle in fine lines and pores! Excellent stuff!

it really helps smooth on your foundation better, i noticed i used less foundation than usual with this primer, the primer broke me out but i have super sensative skin and it works amazing for other people, it gives you kind of a matte finish on its own but im not sure how it will work on oil control, my skins very dry and it wasnt oily for me

1. This tube of Prime needs to be shaken a bit before applying.
2. It sounds as if your concealer and foundation are not right for your skin.

Yes, that is why I bought this product. BUT, only if you apply a small, pea-size amount. It goes a LONG way, and too much will negate the purpose of the primer. Additionally, let it dry for a minute or two before you begin foundation application.

Hard Candy is formulated with 1/2 creamy, 1/2 powdery. Its easy to apply and can be used as a great moistruizer. However, I highly not recommend this product if you have oily an/or acne prone skin.

Recommend: Hard Candy illuminating Face Primer, it's less oily and works great with long lasting makeup.

No but it will stay on better. I would recommend the mattifying powder also from this brand.

If you already have oily skin, as I do, I wouldn't recommend getting this product. It has a lotion-y consistency and goes on well enough at first, but you'll be oily again within 2 hours.

I'm so glad I bought this primer instead of the $100 one at Sephora. It does exactly what a primer should do: primes the skin's surface for easier makeup application.

I applied the primer on top of my daily sunscreen -- I couldn't believe how smoothly it glided across my skin. Next I applied a tinted moisturizer and mineral powder and was thrilled that there was no icky product pilling. Yay!

It lasted all day and gave my skin a little extra glow.

I have normal/combo skin that gets easily dehydrated. The primer was neither to greasy/shiny or drying for my skin.

I wanted to give Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer a try and it didn't disappoint.It went on smooth and kept my make-up looking flawless all day.It is a great product for a good price.

Great Primer for the money!

For the value and quality, this is a great primer. I use this product once a day. It has a smooth application, and alittle goes a long way. If you use too much, it will settle, cake, and show. A pea-size amount is what you need. This product helps to keep my oily t-zone under control. I am an African American with a tone of Queen Latifah, and the translucency of this product is great in that it does not create an ash effect. It is nearly scentless. If you store it in a warm place, you may need to shake and squeeze the tube before use because the warm temperature will liquify the product. I believe it has an SPF of 15; I wish it were higher.

I wish my local Walmart carried more Hard Candy products!

Great Primer for Younger Skin

this primer felt lovely on my fingers, and was really smooth and easy apply - a little goes a long way here. my makeup was applied at 8.30 this morning and stayed mostly on up till 10.30 at night when I took it off, so that was nice. also, with the primer my foundation spread really nicely, and had a luminous quality it didn't previously have.

I originally bought this years ago at my local Walmart.  Since then, all Hard Candy products were pulled from the local Walmart.  I tried a few other primers like Elf and #7.  While these other primers worked fine, the amount of product was much less and the cost was higher.  I was so happy to find the Hard Candy primer online at Walmart and will continue to shop here.

Primer performs affordably

Gotta say, I'm a little disappointed. I read all the reviews here and was excited to try this primer. I used the primer several times but wasn't sure I could see a difference in my makeup. So, today I applied the primer on one side of my face and not on the other. I did the rest of my makeup normally and went on my way. I worked 9 hours today and BOTH sides of my face look like my makeup is beginning to wear off. The BEST primer out there is HourGlass Mineral Veil, but at $52 a bottle, it's a very pricy investment. But I may go back to it anyhow. The only thing I can say is that I use liquid foundation and maybe that makes a difference. Seems like a lot of the other reviewers are using powder and they like it.
