Good, But It Ain't The Original

Customer review by mjwright

I had the original Wave Station blender and it trashed all other smoothie makers in comparison. I never had any ice chunks, just like it said on the box and I could use it for hours every week. This version, while smaller than the original one, gets the job done, but requires a little more effort to have no ice chunks. Also the motor isn't as powerful either but seeing as how the original has been discontinued, there is no better blender for smoothies and frozen drinks than this one.

I bought this blender for my 11 yr old grandson. He wanted to have one to make shakes with. Well, we have been trying all kinds of shakes and icy drinks with it! It really does crush up all the ice. As it is blending you can see the wave of the mixture being drawn down into the bottom so that it is all getting mixed so well!!! He loves it!!!

Returned my Sunbeam Blender and bought this one. Plenty of power for an exceptional price. You'll be very pleased with this product. Kids love the smoothies.

I used my old blender for making drinks, sauces and salsas, soups, etc. Will those items clog the dispenser thingy on the side? Salsas use a pulse setting, which I note this model has -- does anyone have experience of blending things *other* than drinks? Thanks in advance!

  • A. In my opinion you want to blend anything in it as smooth as possible. The spigot gets plugged if there is too much roughage.

  • A. You can remove the dispenser and it has a cap that stores in the bottom of the blender that you can place on it so there shouldnt be any problems with the dispenser with salsas as long as you take the dispenser off beforehand.

  • A. Yes, works for Salsa on the pulse setting. Surprisingly well built esp for the little cash. I bought it to use once and toss, and it will not die....I highly recommend it durability wise, even though relatively knew for me, its been dropped, kicked, left outside in the rain, through the sand, etc. Great bargain.

  • A. I blended up pico de gallo in it, and it dispensed just fine, took it a bit longer, but it worked! See with smoothies it pours right out, but the chunky makes it work harder, but its okay, try it!

  • A. Other items have not been tested for dispensing on the Hamilton Beach Wave Station Express Dispensing Blender model 54615 however if the mixture does not dispense very well the dispensing spout can be removed and replaced with a cap. The mixture can then be poured from the blender jar.
