Thank you for your question. Model 33140V will remain in either Low or High position until manually switched to off position. This unit will not automatically switch to warm or turn off.

I have always left my slow cookers on for up to 10 hours. I always start out on HIGH then after it gets to boiling I turn to MEDIUM or LOW. The food comes out piping hot. I only have this for one week, used it once and had it on for 6-7 hours. No overheating. My counter top that it sits on only gets slightly warm. I hope this is helpful.

If you leave it on for 8 hours I would keep it on the low setting. You can then put it on keep warm setting until you are ready to serve then turn it off.

Yes, that is the good thing about a slow cooker. I usually turn mine on HIGH for about 15 minutes just to make sure that it is working and then turn it to LOW. If I am cooking something for 8 hours, I usually stir it once about half way through. Otherwise leave it alone. Raising the lid just lets your heat out.

Yes. I was late returning from work and I had the slow cooker on for 11 hours and it was fine

Yes. I tested mine by starting a meatloaf on low at 11PM and checked it again the next morning at 10AM. I left it on low till supper that night at 5PM. It worked perfectly.

For us this is a perfect size. I like the "manual" knob, off, low, medium and high.
I don't care for digital controls. I would have preferred a white or other "color" body on the outside but this silver is quite good looking. It matches my kichen faucet and cabinet knobs and handles. I am concerned because another reviewer said that it dents easily therefore I am very careful with it. I cooked in it once and it works very well and as I expected. I downsized to this one because it's just the two of us and as I get older I don't like heavy pots, pans etc. This slow cooker is just perfect. I take the lid knob off for each after each washing to dry it well.

I did not want a larger slow cooker and this one will fit all my cooking needs. I do not cook for a large family anymore and this will be good for the times I do have to take something. I like the four settings on this one. You don't have just high or low. Good choice for a variety of slow cooker recipes. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good slow cooker for a reasonable price.
