    Great product!

I love using this electric kettle. It's the easiest way to make tea, instant oatmeal, noodle soup, instant coffee, hot chocolate, and more. It heats water quickly. I like it better than using the microwave. The automatic shut-off, once water is boiling, is great. Sometimes I get distracted, and forget I set the water boiling, but this unit always shuts off for safety, so I never have to be concerned. It's light weight, and easy to pour, unlike heavier metal kettles. I highly recommend this product. I've had it over a year, and it is in great condition.

    Excellent water boiler!

I work overseas in Afghanistan and needed a water boiler for my tea, soups, coffee, etc. Most of the models I have seen are white and have the electrical cord connected to the actual water boiler. This model is black, which I prefer over white, and separates from the base so that when you lift the actual container, you are not pulling on the electrical cord. I find this model much more convenient and practical. The container is big and holds plenty of water. I am very glad I bought this model and would highly recommend it!

This kettle makes my life easier. I do not have to use the stove to heat water (which the microwive does not do well). This product turns itself off when the water is hot enough which is a great safety factor. Very happy.

A reviewer commented on the large metal coil to heat the water... but the specifications state "concealed heating element"... please picture &/or definitely explain if the heating coil- element- is exposed to heat the water. Thank you.
    by momcott
    • There is a metal coil at the bottom. Since you really don't have a reason to stick your hand or anything else inside while it's connected to the base, I can't imagine how it would be a safety issue. The plastic cladding makes it safer than a tea kettle and helps insulate the water.

    • Yes, heating element is exposed - to clarify, once you open the lid you can see the metal coil at the base of the kettle (slightly off the base). This is the standard style of heating element that I'm used to in kettles (having boiled water in kettles for the last 20 years)and I have not had any issues with it. My last kettle was an exception as it had the heating element covered and this was both more energy inefficient and caused issues with the seal leaking. Hope this is helpful.

    • Well, let me put it this way: if by "exposed" you mean introducing your hand inside the kettle to touch it, then it is exposed. Otherwise it sits on the bottom of the kettle where no one should put anything but water.

    • it is not concealed outside the unit you can see it , the metal coil is inside the unit , where you pour the water . you can not touch it unless you put your hand in the unit. work really well

    • Yes it is exposed to heat the water. To me it looks as if it's encased in what looks like a silver type metal so the water is not really touching the real heating element.

    • Yes, it is a coil at the bottom. It should not bother you and it may be more efficient this way.

Is the plastic used for this kettle BPA-free? Does it have an off switch to ensure that it's off when not plugged in? Can you boil using only 2 cups of water? I want to use this for one - two cups of coffee & have heard that some won't work until the water is full to max. How long does it take to cool down/auto shut off?
    by mscpm23
    • I'm not sure if the plastic is BPA-free. But I can answer your other questions. It has a switch that automatically turns off when the water gets to a full boil. It's a lever that you push down to start the heat, and then it pops up (turning off) when the water comes to a rolling boil. At that point the unit is no longer heating the water, and it will cool down naturally. You can boil as much or as little water as you need.

    • I'm assuming its BPA free. It does have an on off switch. So when it comes to temp it shuts off.Yes you can use it to make one or two cups.

    • Thank you for your question. The unit will automatically shut off when water starts to boil. The unit has a minimum and maximum fill line. The plastic use in the kettle is BPA Free.

    • As soon as the water boils the entire assembly turns itself off and can be removed from the base. It is not battery operated and so there would be no concerns about it being on once removed from the base. You CAN boil only 2 cups of water. There is a minimum fill line on the kettle and I have found that it boils no matter what level water I choose whether minimum or maximum. The kettle shuts off as soon as it stops boiling however, it is well enough insulated that the water stays hot for some time afterwards.

    • The kettle turns itself off when water is boiling, the switch clicks to off. Yes, you can boil just 2 cups of water.

    • Yes BPA free. Has auto shut off once water comes to a boil. The handle is cool, the metal heating coil is in the kettle. You can warm 1.8 liters of wat.

    • Don't know the answer about BPA. It has an off switch and turns itself off when the water gets hot. I use it to make a cup of soup, chocolate, or coffee--it works with a small amount of water. Very happy.

    • BPA information not on product insert. Minimum water to heat is 0.5L which is 2 8 oz cups of water - and use water only. There is no "ON/OFF" switch other than the ON switch which is turned on when ready to heat water; it will automatically turn OFF, however to insure that heating pad is off, it is necessary to unplug pot.

    • I don't know if the plastic is BPA free. It does have an off switch. Yes, you can boil two cups of water. That is the minimum operational quantity. Once it brings the water to a boil it shuts off by itself. I do not know how long it takes to cool down.
