Hamilton Beach 1.5 Quart Capacity Ice Cream Maker, 68320B 4.2 5 66 76
Works Perfectly I just finished my first ice cream recipe. Using the one for "Old Fashioned Vanilla", I followed all the directions, and just tried the ice cream, today. It is absolutely perfect! I haven't had vanilla ice cream that good, since I was a kid, back in the 50's.And it worked even better than I thought. The book says it takes about 20-40 minutes, and mine was done and ready to freeze in about 25.I would certainly recommend this product, and I WILL tell all of my friends and relatives about it.Thanks for a great way, to show my grandkids what "real" ice cream used to taste like. 07/04/2009
Great product. Made 4th of July ice cream. It's perfect for home made ice cream, anytime. I had a simple recipe from the internet. It made perfect ice cream in 20 minutes. No pre-chilling of ice cream mix is necessary. (2 cups heavy whipping cream, 1 cup of half & half, 1 cup of splenda, 2 tbs vanilla) Just stir the refregerated ingredients together till splenda disolves, pour into chilled drum and in 20 minutes, great ice cream. 07/05/2009
Great product......... this is a great little ice cream maker we have used 6 quart freezers for a long time. This is better by far you dont have to buy ice or salt and the ice cream comes out just like it doses in the old fashion type of freezers. This makes plenty of ice cream for 6 people. 6 people can have a good size bowl of cream what more can you ask for on a hot summer day. 07/02/2009
This product works great, especially for the price, I have successfully made many different types of delicious ice cream (I recommend Alton Brown's vanilla ice cream (foodnetwork.com)). As with all ice cream makers of this style, the ice cream comes out like a thick milkshake until put in the freezer for four hours, then in hardens like regular hard ice cream. This is not a malfunction of the machine. Before buying this item, be sure your freezer works well, and is set in a cold enough setting, otherwise the canister won't be cold enough to make the ice cream. Also remember this type of ice cream maker requires you to freeze a canister for usually 24 hours, so make sure you have enough space in your freezer for the canister. This type of ice cream maker was reccommended by Alton Brown, a food network professional cook who is very knowledgable about food cooking materials as well as recipies. 08/14/2009
