I bought this product to cool my home office. My home has central air, but our home office is always too hot due to several computers running constantly. This little unit was economical and is perfect to supplement the house A/C. My office now stays nice and cool. I like that it has a thermostat so you can set the temp, and the remote control is nice. It's relatively quiet for a window unit, and it is small enough to fit in just about any window. One little odd detail, it seems to cool better on economy mode than on regular cool mode. I would think it would be the opposite, but I'm glad it works well in energy saving mode anyway. Overall good value for the money.

This air conditioner is quiet and was very easy to install. I know it will keep the room cool on those hot summer days and nights.

Well I purchased two of these units. One of them is working great, while the other one is not. I am going to take the defective unit back. The good one works better then I would have expected. While the bad one was a little noisy in comparison to the good one, but now it is very noisy and doesn't cool anymore. I did not read the reviews when I made the order originally. It seems that there are people that are very pleased from day one with theirs, while there are people that seem to have received a defective unit from day one. Probably would be a great product if Haier had a better control system at the factory. I hope the good one stays good for a while, and the bad one is getting replaced by one from a manufacture that I have had better experience with (ordered that one from Walmart also).

I bought this ac as a backup only to an upstairs finished and well insulated small attick bedroom with a vent in the floor for heat and central air. I found that the central air did not foot the bill up there so I installed this unit in a window, less than 22 inches and not only did it fit well, but cooled that room diligantly especially in the econo mode, I was amazed at it's ability to maintain set temperature on hot days, automatically shutting off completely untill needed again, to help the one central air vent. I recomend this well thoughtfully engineered product for it's quiet, bountifully cool, inegmatic fit for smaller windows and low price, great bang for my buck fifety..

  • A. It is not to bad but window units are in the room and you are gone to hear them run they are not like central air where the unit is out side.I cool the room ahead of time so when I use that room it is cooled and then I turn it to low when I use room.It doesn't bother me when I am sleeping.

does this work or plug in for a 110 electrical line? i dont want my fuses to blow. and also with air conditioners what would be the highest btu air conditioners that would work on a 110 line? please let me know thank you

  • A. its 120 volt and has a built in breaker in the plug that will work like a fuse blowing in the event of a over load.So you fuse or breaker in the electrical box will be OK you just push a reset button on the plug.Or coarse you want to find out why it set off the relay like bad wiring etc. As far as the biggest air c you can run on 120 volts depends on the gage of wire to the outlet you use and the amp or the fuse or breaker to that line.I have a 12000 btu on a 120 line with 12 gauge wire to that outlet and a 20 amp breaker for that line.

  • A. Yes, it works with 110. Don't know about highest BTU but I have used an 8,000 BTU on my 110 with no problems. I also have weak wiring that flips the breakers. All of my window units are now 5000 BTU with no problem and actually cheaper running than my C/A unit. Just be sure to use outlets that are powered by different breakers or fuses. Haier is my AC of choice.
