Rated 5 out of 5 Very powerful for a 900w unit! I bought this to replace my old 1000w microwave. This unit seems a fair bit more powerful than the previous one, surprisingly. I think it may be that my old one was all plastic? This Haier has an all-aluminum body and, while I'm no scientist, I'd expect that it keeps the 'waves in more efficiently than plastic? I have no idea, but I can tell you that after just one minute in this microwave, my large coffee boiled over and spattered all over the inside of the unit. Thirty seconds and a 16oz drink is piping hot, and for microwave dinners I can always cut down the time listed on the box by a good two minutes unless I feel like burning my face off.It looks sharp, too. All aluminum, brushed steel, etc. The handle looks like metal, but it's just plastic. Durable, nonetheless. I expect that I should have many good years with this one, and I'd recommend it! 03/18/2013
