The phone has the potential to be amazing; if the high-speed data services could be used. This phone was built as an ATT device and requires the ATT carrier frequency for 3G. So, even though the phone is technically unlocked, the 3G isn't; unless you use ATT. However, if you use ATT, you're better off getting a phone with your contract.

I bought this phone approximately one year ago - I did not actually purchase through walmart as I found it about $20 cheaper elsewhere & already had credit there to use anyway - the quality of the product itself when received was perfect, however, since it did not come from Walmart my review will be solely on the performance of the phone. I will break it in to categories, so you can choose skip to what you're interested in ;) PROS: Video recording is pretty good - screen is large (actually took me some getting used to) - holds a charge fairly impressively while internet browsing or just playing around on the phone - nice price - Windows OS means being able to bring your work (on windows programs, such as microsoft office) on the go with you - can plug right in to your computer to transfer files, work/projects (assuming you also have a windows os on your computer) CONS: Camera is capable of taking great pics, BUT only if you have the right lighting, etc, otherwise flash is nearly always way too bright, and most pics are very difficult to achieve without being fuzzy, distorted or too dark - volume control on the side of the phone seems way too easy to accidentally push (especially while in purse, etc) so I have to regularly make certain my ringer wasn't inadvertently turned down or off - battery drains VERY quickly while talking ( average of approx. 1 hour talk time - from full charge to dead phone) & either mine is temperamental, or there is only a warning for low battery if you're not talking on the phone, generally I have no clue it's about to die until my conversation is cut short by an automatic power off - phone sometimes lags, much like a computer that is bogged down with too many tabs open, however there doesn't seem to be a way to easily clear cache, or force close an app/program, such as there is with the Android. OTHER (PERSONAL OPINION): I have to admit, I am one of those that avoided cell phones for a long time, simply for a lack of interest. This is only the 2nd smart phone I have owned, and the first phone that I personally chose to purchase - it is also the first Windows OS phone I have owned/used. Call me dense, but I honestly had no idea how different the Windows OS was compared to the Android OS. My boyfriend loves it, and now wants to switch from Android to Windows - I, however, am not as sold on it. I feel that Android is a bit more user friendly & easy to navigate. Our first Android phones, I spent the better part of one day & knew that system like a veteran of smartphones - this one, a year later, I am still figuring little things out. I also am not impressed with the available apps for Windows vs those for Android, especially in the "free" category. The one thing that probably irritated me the most was when I figured out that Windows phones don't have the option for swype - I thought swype made texting significantly faster & easier, and I still miss it!! For what it's worth, please keep in mind that these are not necessarily FLAWS, or even "cons" to this phone - only just a few things I don't personally care for. Also, I would like to point out that: part of the reason I found Android easier to use is that I found it fun to figure out, whereas this one I was just frustrated, so I admittedly spent less time and energy trying to figure it out - and in regards to apps - I have not bothered with many, so this is definitely not to be confused with someone who is app-happy, lol, however, I am grateful they FINALLY seemed to get an update for Facebook that isn't worthless, and in fact is now very similar to the Android version. Lastly, within about the first month or so of use I would only sometimes receive media messages, after that I would rarely receive them, and very soon after that I have no longer been able to receive them at all - now, I am NOT an AT&T contract customer, I am a no-contract customer through a carrier that uses AT&T service/network, so it very well may be because of that, however, after some google searching it seems to be a common issue with this particular phone. In conclusion, I actually had to debate with myself a bit as to whether I should click "yes" or "no" for the recommendation - while I don't personally prefer the Windows OS, and there are some features (or lack of) that I find disappointing, I went with "yes" because I'm in no real rush to get a new phone, and I can't say I would not get the same or similar phone if the price was right. I do like the Android system better, and would prefer that, but I am not so disappointed with Windows OS, or the phone itself, that it's intolerable for me.
