8600 Premium - Great Printer I purchased this printer as a replacement for my HP OfficeJet L7580. This is a serious upgrade. The web setup is intuitive; although I am an IT professional, this printer practically set itself up. I was skeptical that the ePrint service would go through my router firewall, but it worked like a charm from the start. All of the web services included in the printer work without fail.The touchscreen is a nice addition to the printer. All of the options are clearly labeled with help options. The choices have the minimal amount of information on screen as to not overload one with needless technobabble. Heck, my six year old can scroll through the menus and find an option.Setup can be accomplished via the included CD, browser interface (setup your network first), or on the printer itself. The entire process of unboxing, set up, and then printing the first page was all of fifteen minutes. I am a person that reads the instructions first, so that was the bulk of the time. I suppose one could get this unboxed and start printing in five or so minutes. Yes, it is that easy.Some things that will make your experience easier; read the instructions, plan your network, print out the final setup page (the touchscreen is alluring; you can always input the settings again after your six year old plays on it), and enjoy.The cost for the ink cartridges threw me. My L7580 ink was half the cost of the 8600 ink. You can stretch the ink use by choosing the economy settings on the printer preferences. There is no difference when just doing everyday printing. My inkjet printer is not used for clients, so this printer is great for my home office.This printer is a great addition. Highly recommend. 01/19/2012

So far best investment; easy to set up! Read blog for information and problems to expect. Overall satisfied with the 8600 Premium printer. So far, printing seems to be very economical with great results. Have not set up scan nor fax yet, but expect same satisfaction. 01/08/2012
HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-All-in-One Printer HP products have always been very good. I love this all in one printer. It was easy to set up. This does everything except make coffee! My last all in one, I had to put the document to bee scanned through the rollers. This made it difficult, but not impossible, to scan Driver's licenses and hard objects. I love that this has the platen so I can copy books and anything thick and flat. The scans are beautiful and clear. This makes double sided copies, which saves paper. Plus this ink is set up so you only purchase individual colors. Unlike the old tri-color, if blue ran out, you would have to throw the whole thing out. This one has separate ink cartridges for each color. This is a money saver! I highly recommend this all in one. 01/05/2012
