My experience with this particular printer was horrible. I owned it for 14 months before the print head gave out on it. This partucular model is not user friendly when it comes to repair. As in other HP Printer models were the print head can be replaced by the user this one cannot. This would mean that the user would have to box it up and ship it at your expense back to HP for repair. The cost of shipping and related repair costs make it not worth the effort. Another problem that I had was wireless connectivity. Every day I would have to reset the printer to recognize my router which is sitting right next to it. After a large amount of research on the web; I found that this is a common defect / problem on this model. The repair solution on HP's support page will give you a solution for another model of printer and say that it is the same fix as for the 660 model. It is not. I finally purchased a Cannon pixima 3222 and it works great sofar with no issues. So buyer beware.

I have an HP 8500 Pro already, so I thought for the money this would be a good printer for what I needed. I went with this one because it had a smaller footprint. I was disappointed to find out that the ink does not last very long at all, even with the XL cartridges. Also, there is no automatic duplex (2-sided) printing. The color and quality of the printing is acceptable, but I really wish I had spent the extra few dollars and gone with the higher end machine. The machine also runs a self-diagnostic check frequently, often in the middle of a print job, which slows up the printing considerably. In addition, every time the power blinks you must re-enter the WEP key for the network connection. It apparently has no option to save the network settings to an internal memory. Good points: Ink cartridges inexpensive, relatively small footprint, good picture/print quality/easy to use and set up, priced right. Bad points: Must re-enter wireless key every time power fails, no duplex printing, ink runs out quickly, "self-tests" frequently.

My old HP Deskjet 6122 was finally put out to pasture after 12 yrs, still working. After reading all the reviews here, for this HP Officejet 6600, I've decided it's time to upgrade. I still haven't printed any photographs as yet, but everything else has done great. I have copied a few documents, I have scanned several documents that I want to keep copies of on my network, it's been assigned it's own email address through ePrint.com. I've printed from my computer, my tablet, and my cell phone, both of which are Android driven. I spend a great deal of time outside under my gazebo with my tablet, with wireless wi-fi and when I run across a web page or product I want to purchase that I want to print, I just send it to the printer and when I go back into the house, it's on the printer waiting for me. How cool is that? I haven't done a fax yet because I don't have a home or fax phone line. If the HP Officejet 6600 is half as dependable as my old Deskjet then I see a long, productive relationship here.

I researched this pretty heavily before buying it - I went to the HP site and they don't have as good a price on it, either! But the details I had to be sure of before purchasing were not available on the Walmart website. It's perfect. I can print straight from my iphone, and it does multiple page scan with the document feeder.

The only down side is the cost of the printer ink. Installation, and using it is nice and easy. It sure is a lot faster than my last printer.

I bought this as a backup printer for my classroom, making approximately 50 copies per week. The printer is typical HP, easy to install and use. However, printer ink is an issue. This printer will not print in "black only" if color ink cartridges are running low. I ONLY print in black ink, not using the color print option, but run out of color ink anyway. Constantly changing cartridges can be expensive (xl replacement cartridges for three colors and a black ink is over $100).

I purchased the HP Officejet 66oo wireless printer, got it home and installed on my laptop home network as my Desk top was in the shop glad i purchased the extended warranty because they installed enough parts in my Hp p-7 to build a new one, but anyway i am still working out bugs, no problem with the printer mind you but i am online with it, yes that's a feature of the printer the ability to access the internet with apps. it works fine faxes great, copies great i even have an app on my smartphone that i can print from my 2 year old android smartphone wirelessly to the printer. i set up some apps and thought i had turned them off to conserve power, ink, and paper. Low and behold i failed! The morning after, i was awakened by my printer which alarmed me as i thought someone was in my home, yes there was, MSN News, and some fitness newsletter, scared me to death, but i am happy to say i now have read the entire manuel and have it set to go to sleep at a certain time and awaken at a certain time , no worries folks incidently very good printer and i would recommend it to my friends.... but watch the ghost in the machine lol.

Before I start, let me qualify my position by saying that I have been a faithful HP printer consumer for 10+ years. Now, trust me when I say you will be wasting your $$$ buying this printer. I owned it for 13 months before the printerhead gave out on it...but even before then I was having to reset and realign the heads virtually every other time I needed to print. And you can forget about having HP assist you....their solutions don't work((printerhead prob is common with this model I discovered) and they finally advise you to send it in for repair which costs you $$$. Stay away from this printer.

My fiance and I received this printer from a coworker who no longer wanted it. (I can see why now). Since we are getting married in 2 months we saw free left over ink so that our wedding envelopes could be addressed.... it worked GREAT. quick results and the wireless was a major plus! But now, let me tell you a little something I just had to learn the hard way... all of the printing I have been doing lately, is all in black ink only. I saw the ink levels and was astonished to see that I had barely made a dent in the black ink level! the color also didnt seem to be moving at all. then suddenly today it says my blue and yellow are out... and although I'm only printing in black it refuses to print anything! I go to buy the blue and yellow and come back just for the printer to tell me "oh haha jk magenta is out too!" I try all kinds of troubleshooting, adjusting the settings to grey scale among others... and nothing is working. So I look this issue up online. come to find out, HP uses a COMPOSITE black with blue, yellow and magenta, then COATS it with black to make it a more "crisp" black. UMMMM WHAT??! so yes although they might be cheaper its a major rip to have to buy $40 worth of ink JUST TO PRINT IN BLACK. needless to say there is no other way I can do my wedding invitations without this printer so.... yes I had to fall victim to this stupid company. Bottom line.... AVOID HP PRINTERS.

The unit has a check cycle that runs constantly, interfering with your print jobs. It activates on startup, and randomly thereafter. The wait time isn't really the concern though, it is that the check cycle burns through your printer ink ubelievably fast. It doesn't print to paper, but it somehow uses the ink during this cycle. It is a convenient, small foot print, easy to use and connect printer, and for that I would give it a higher rating, but the ink use is simply unacceptable. In the 6 months I've owned it, I've already paid more for the ink then I have for the cost of the printer, and that is with very, very low actual printing.
