A dreadful SHAME You'd really think HP would care enough about their customer satisfaction rating to warrant a change in how these adapters are designed/manufactured, but apparently NOT. I like my HP laptop. It's really very nice, but there is no way I can continue to purchase a new cord every 3 cotton pickin' months.I work on a heavy graphics workstation, which requires a 120w Smart Pin adapter that costs close to $150. The first one lasted all of 3 months before it croaked. I couldn't afford to buy another 120v so I purchase a 90 for $80. It lasted 2 months. And so now I am on to my 3 adapter in ONE YEAR. This is really rediculous.I don't abuse my computer or it's power supply, it's just so bloody fragile that you have to buy it with the understanding that it isn't going to last very long.The pricepoint really needs to be adjusted. If I'm going to be shelling out $80 for something it better darn well be worth it.I'm really curious if DELL laptops have the same issues with thier power sources. 12/30/2009
Do NOT buy for a 65 Watt The dongle that is required for a 65 watt notebook is defective. HP will not stand behind this dongle nor will they let you return the adapter. I spoke to a tech and later a supervisor and was told that ONLY the adapter was covered by the one year warranty. The power cord and dongle are not covered. With a 65 watt defective dongle, the adapter is useless to me as it is a 90 watt adapter which HP will not let you return. I have totally lost respect for HP due to their failure to make any concessions on this defective dongle which they do not warrant and continue to sell. There was a total lack of respect for customers and no concern at all that they were selling a defective problem. Quite a gimmick. 05/07/2010
Poor Quality, Poor Value Very dissapointed with this adapter, failed after 3 months of personal use. This adapter was specified for my 65W laptop that is about a year and a half old and required a 2" adapter that fits on the end of the 90W adapter. Very cheap appearance and constantly disconnects. The charger was making a poor connection to the computer over time so I thought it was the DC jack inside the laptop. Unfortunately, I had to pay a $45 diagnostic fee to a local repair shop to tell me it was this 3 month old adapter. It appears the wire inside the 2" adapter broke internally. DO NOT RECOMMEND!! 04/05/2010
