Great Camera and Price I just recently replaced my computer (got an HP) and applied to online college and decided to get a web cam for communications.With most web cams you have to worry about video quality and microphone quality. Not with this one!! The video is fantastically smooth and there's no noticable sound problem.I also enjoyed the fact that you can set it like a security camera, if there's any motion near it the camera will turn on and record what's going on.I still have to figure that and the still photograph thing out (bit complicated in making them work might have to e-mail HP)But other than that it works perfectly and the price is awsome. I'd recommend this to anyone even as a gift. 02/02/2009
HP Deluxe USB Webcam I received this cam within a couple of days. I installed the software and plugged in the USB connection. It works great. Oh, it is the size of a tube of lipstick.pros:1. It produces a sharp picture. Placed on your laptop, it gives you a clear view of your chest to the top of your head. Some cams just show your face, they are too close.2. It shows a nice wide screen.3. I think it makes you look better than you really do. LOL4. It takes still pictures, also.I haven't tried out all the features, yet. But, I will.cons:1. I wish it had a choice to view as a mirror. It is confusing to see yourself as the other person sees you. Seeing myself in my own little window,I raise my right hand to wave, the left side goes up.2. It would be nice to have a zoom feature.3. It would be nice to adjust the lighting, color, etc.4. It would be nice to have controls on the viewing window to click on as I need them.5. The small stand that attaches to your laptop doesn't fit right. I am using another attachment from another camera.Final thought. I am glad to have this cam to connect with friends and family. Face-toFace Product If you're interested in seeing the person you're talking to, whether a family member, grandchild or personal friend and can do so free as long as you have a home computer, investigate downloading Skype for no charge and buying a webcam. Video cameras used to cost hundreds of dollars. The Hewlett-Packard KQ246AA Deluxe Webcam cost less than $40 and was a snap to install. You can even take a picture of whar is seen on your monitor which is then stored in the computers memory. An example is attached. 02/04/2010
