    better than Quaker for my needs I microwave quick grits since it's quick and convenient that way. I've tried Quaker quick grits with the recommended amount of water, stirred it and put it in the microwave for 4 minutes. It almost always comes out lumpy and coarse. I do the same with the Great Value quick grits, except I add the water and don't even stir, and it comes out with no lumps every time. I think the Great Value stuff is ground finer than Quaker's, and that's what makes the difference for me. Certainly, the taste is the same. I can't believe I just wrote a review of grits. 10/10/2011

Microwave: 1 serving - 3/4 cupwater*, 3 tbsp grits, dash salt (optional). *For thicker grits, use lesswater. For thinner grits, use more water.
