Rated 5 out of 5★áby DocChocobo Good SO FAR 2nd choice until fully tested. I've been testing two of these bulbs for a week or so under different real world conditions. They haven't let me down yet, or failed to impress. The price point per watt/lumen is decent.Primarily, they were bought to extend the operating time for our solar setup, and in this area, they are living up to their expectation if not bettering them. Six watts is an approximate rating. They are actually drawing about 4.4 watts, according to the digital meter.Another plus, is that they don't appear to be running overly hot, considering they don't have heat-sink fins and are running on a modified sine-wave power inverter. The only bulbs Ive seen on the market that can better them for the same wattage are the CREE bulbs available elsewhere. However, these perform above average SO FAR.They also seem to handle dirty power from generators pretty well, however, I wouldn't push your luck. LED's in general, like STABLE power. Ive owned other Wal-Mart offerings in the past that have had mixed reliability, but so far so good on these. Time will only tell as far as how these will perform. I will rate them again in about a month or two, when they are good and broken in or broken. As far as enclosed fixtures, your mileage may vary, as I know that temps inside the driver circuit will increase when mounted that way. The lifespan of even top of the line electrolytic capacitors shortens greatly as heat levels increase. With all power handling electronics, heat build up is never good. These work very well though in open fixtures and table lamps. If you DON'T need tons of light, you may want to look at their accent LED products, very tiny wattage for the amounts of light they make. Good for mood lighting or places where you may not need or want bright blinding light.Just a quick update before posting this:It also seems that these LED bulbs don't draw as many bugs as others I've used. I just put one in on the porch and the amount of bugs there are drastically reduced. So it's a good out door light bulb as well it seems :) 09/12/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★áby BeetlejuiceOC The Ultimate Lightbulb I was very impressed by these. After seeing LED bulbs at other stores in the $20-$30 range and finding these at WM for $8 and change, I had to splurge! These things have a estimated lifespan of 22 years (a conservative estimate), use 6 watts of power as I've measured them at home with 125VAC on hot (I'm an electronics geek :) ), and come in a hard plastic shell which prevents breakage since the first thing I did after taking it out of the box was drop it on a ceramic tile floor (accidentally, of course). These are ideal if you're off grid using a generator or photovoltaics as they cut your electric usage in half from compact fluorescents and by 83% if you're coming from incandescents. Well worth the investment, and only bound to get cheaper as they come into more common use. They're also great if you live with people who forget to turn lights off! 08/04/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★áby GoingGreenRob Cutting our Power Bill in Half, One Step @ a Time So my wife & I have struggled with big power bills, & going off the grid isn't an option right now, but we can & have made small changes & cut our $400 a month Power Bill by less than half.Switching to 40 Watt LED A19 Bulbs, which cost $6.88 at Walmart have saved us about $6.00 per bulb in one months time. They literally almost paid for themselves that first month. Now there are other brands as GE, FeitElectric, & Sylvania, but I was trying to save money, at the same time see if this was going to work & it did work.Hope you try this too, 05/24/2014
Rated 5 out of 5★áby DeePeeMobileAL Good Price, Great Efficiency. While the write up here says 7 watts, the one I purchased says 6 watts. This is more efficient than a CFL and will last longer. 470 lumens. (78.3 Lumens/Watt.)NOT YET as cheap as CFLs, but this was a good price for an LED and gives me great hopes! The box says 22 years life which is an easy two to four times longer than a CFL making it almost a break even deal! IF you have to pay some one to change a light (like a business or factory), then you have lost big-time with any other bulb you buy. If have to change it for an elderly relative, it saves you time and any worry about them being in the dark until you get over to help. This bulb is VERY bright, well illuminating the majority of my back yard (about a 100 x 100 area). Hard to believe it is just 6 watts! The bulb is attractive and looks very close to the old incandescent bulbs making it suitable for replacement of any lamp in your home visible or not. 07/27/2014
