This product only needs to be refrigerated after opening.

It&#39;s ok to store dry foods. After you use it needs to be  stored in your refrigerator

It is on the grocery shelf non-refrigerated, however, once home and open it just seems as though should be in the meat drawer of refrigerator. Have placed it there for many years and old habits are hard to change even if it would be okay unrefrigerated.

Put it in the fridge after opening.  Else can keep it UNopened on pantry shelf.  It freezes well.  So I cut it in slices and freeze it in big container.  Lasts up to a year if frozen.  About a week, if you put it in the fridge.  Unopened it lasts so long as the &#39;sell by&#39; date on the outside.

After you open it, put it in the refrigerator.  Firmer, slices nicer when chilled too.

Doesn&#39;t need refrigeration until after its opened - but having said that, I&#39;ve left one out yet reclosed the packaging when household temperature was mid to lower 70&#39;s  for maybe 4 days snacking on it and it was fine, didn&#39;t notice any difference at all.  
Tasty stuff, addicting.

GV cheese product melts, tastes great for nachos. With the addition of my favorite hot sauce our super nachos night was  good.

Great product

I use this mostly in cooking. Cheese and rotel dip, mac and cheese, in cheese omelet, etc.  Have used so long I can't tell the difference and it is more inexpensive and lasts a long time in the meat drawer of refrigerator.

Velveeta substitute

I pretty much ripped open the box and started scarfing this down.

Say cheese!

This is cheap and convenient, and tastes a little better than Velveeta in my opinion, but it still tastes like fake cheese. That could be how it's supposed to taste, though, so don't let that alone stop you. I'm a cheese person, so I'm not a fan of faux fromage.

If fat is a concern

melter in hot veggie dishes or as a dip--- i'll stick with Kraft Velveeta which seems to have a constant quality for melting or as a creamy cheese snack chunk. i assumed it might be a relabeled ''velveeta'' but it doesn't have the same taste or quality-- i used it up and may not buy again. brand Velveeta -- when on sale-- is just a bit more cost-- but a lot more flavor.

I thought I would try this, since it was cheaper than Velveeta's over priced product. But this Great Value Melt N Dip is NOT a very good tasting product at all. It melts great! But without any good flavor to it, what's the point?  I myself, will NOT buy this product ever again.

Not much flavor at all

I had bought this Great Value brand of cheese before and did not have any issues. This one was very dry and did not slice like it normally does. It sliced all crumbly as I was making a sandwich with it. I took one bite of the sandwich and it tasted disgusting. It did not taste like cheese at all. I spit it out since I did not want to take the chance of contracting anything from a spoiled dairy product.
I never return things to Walmart until now. When I tried to return it I was told that I "could not" due to "COVID-19" policies they conveniently put into place. I was told to hang onto it and the receipt until the policy was lifted, which, for all I know as seen on the TV could be the middle of next year. As far as I'm concerned, I am out 6 bucks because of Walmart and their stupidity.
I thought I had better warn others about this as I am sure they are not concerned about selling spoiled food to people at this time as their policy now restricts the consumer from doing anything about it. It was also stated that a return could be done online, which is a bunch of "bull". I logged in and it showed my purchase but I could not find any way of initiating a return of the spoiled product.
You may want to consider buying food elsewhere or checking it before paying for it. At least until they decide to start conducting proper business practices again.

Had a bad experience with this, and with Walmart

This has 30% calcium, which is higher, and less fat.  But no taste.  The regular melt n dip tastes much better.  My fav is the white one.

If the higher calc and lower fat is vital for you, add hot sauce or citric acid or a few drops of lemon juice to get that cheddar tang back.  And add a pinch of salt.

Tasteless but melts well

It's a poor alternative to Velveeta. This cheese doesn't want to melt nor change its form. I tried on baked potato, in the oven as topping on shepard's pie, and as a dip as shown on the package. I'll pay extra for the real stuff next time.
