I'm a sucker for honey bears

Seriously, I'm an idiot. I love honey on it's own, but I just prefer squeezing it out of a plastic bear. This is just as high-quality honey as in any supermarket, but for less moo-lah.

I found that it is great on toasted gluten free bread. Also I can use it in recipes by substituing it for sugar.

The left over honey sat in its container for over a month

  • yes, just warm the bottle in water until the granulation dissolves. It is then ready to use

  • Leftover honey is known to keep for centuries. I wouldn't worry about eating crystalized honey unless it was exposed to flies.

  • Crystallization is the natural process by which liquid honey becomes solid. Heating honey is the only way to dissolve the crystals. You might want to try buying smaller amounts of honey that you can use up more quickly. If the honey still crystallizes, place the jar in warm water and stir until the crystals dissolve. Or place honey in a microwave-safe container and microwave on high, stirring every 30 seconds, until the crystals dissolve. Store honey, tightly sealed, in a cool dry place for up to 1 year. Avoid storing in the refrigerator since that only accelerates the crystallization process.

  • Yes. If you'd like to return it to its prior, viscous state, you can microwave it or melt in a double-boiler, stirring it a little. Enjoy!

  • Honey is a miracle food; it never goes bad. It was reported that archaeologists found 2000 year old jars of honey in Egyptian tombs and they still tasted delicious! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honey#Preservation
