Rated 5 out of 5★ by Great for the large cracks We were looking for a product that would fill extremely large gaps in our vestibule,Great Stuff Big Crack Filler was our answer product started forming and filling in on contact much warmer area now! 12/19/2011
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Fantastic STUFF ! I have used Great Stuff for many many years, to seal old and new holes left by mice, rats, woodchucks, skunks, and snakes, in my many Broadcast Transmitter Buildings. Cut the bottom out of a big coffee can, trim it to fit the hole (or use more than 1 if needed), put a coating of Great Stuff around the hole, slap the can end on, then seal all around the can end. NO MORE critters! I also use it around cooling intake and exhaust pipes to make a tight fit, and to keep bees, birds and bats OUT. YES! You MUST use the entire can, so make sure you DO have enough holes to fill or seal. The can MUST also be shaken HARD! Then shaken harder and longer. If you don't shake it hard enough, or have enough use for it, that's YOUR FAULT, not the people that make it. I've been using it for 40 years, and will keep using it, I think it's the best thing sense sliced bread, and it just works. IF! You know what you are doing. 12/26/2013
Rated 4 out of 5★ by good choices of rigidity for different jobs works well. But a couple of things to watch. Buy only what you need for the job at hand. I bought half dozen cans a few months ago and now the stems are frozen and break when trying to activate the foam. The other is the can has to be inverted which makes it difficult to place the foam up high. OTherwise... it's great stuff. 02/28/2012
Rated 3 out of 5★ by Good Product I love the Dow foams, this one however doesn't quite live up to the promise of filling large holes and gaps. Most of the foam fell back at me once I sprayed. My recommendation is to add wood or rocks to the hole first to give the foam something to adhere too. I have used the foams in the past for set design, it makes great rocks when sprayed on chicken wire 03/28/2012
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Container keeps failing I've used this over the years and it works great when it works but in about 50% of the cans, the foam comes out of the top next to the pivot point rather than out of the plastic nozzle. Very frustrating when the product is within the expiration date. I would not recommend to anyone for use unless your supplier is close to where your working and open when you plan to use the product so you can return the broken cans and get replacements. 04/24/2012
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Junk!! I sprayed the product to seal a draft comming from the attic. The foam would not stick in the void and kept falling out. 05/11/2012
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Poor adhesion I have used Great Stuff many times, primarily the low-expansion Door and Window product. Had to fill some voids in an old shop building that I am renovating. The corners have gaps between the framing and the exterior siding (1x8 redwood shiplap applied vertically). Great Stuff Big Gap Filler seemed perfect, but it would not adhere to the fir framing or the redwood siding. It just kept slumping to the bottom of the openings and spilling out. I think the regular Great Stuff would have done a better job on these 2-inch by 3-inch voids. Now I have to clean up the overspill and try to stuff fiberglass in and around the hardened clumps of foam. 06/19/2012
Rated 2 out of 5★ by Not good on vertical surfaces Bought this to fill in space vacated by my elimination of water soaked wood. Product does not stick well on vertical surfaces. It sags and runs. It is also very hard to gauge thickness as product expands unevenly.Since some product didn't stick, it dropped on a good surface and was a mess to clean up. Now I have to cut it out to try and make it even.As far as I'm concerned, its only good for floor type surfaces. 08/02/2012
