I did quite a bit of research for safety reviews and wanted a seat that was rear facing for as long as possible. This seat is the only one I found that is rear facing up to 40lbs and forward facing to 65lbs. Not only is it great looking but it's the BEST value I found!!! I DO RECOMMEND this car seat to everyone!!!

Very happy with it. Larger than I expected, takes up a bit of room, but I made it work. My one year old looks so comfortable in it. If she falls asleep it keeps her head rested well.

We have this seat in the Alma (purple) print. We have had it since my daughter was 7 months. She is now 14 months and still rear facing with plenty of room! This is a great convertible seat for newborns. It has low bottom slots and a pretty awesome infant pad. It's also a great seat for extended rear facing (rear facing past the min. of 1yr & 20lbs). Your child can rear face in it until they either hit 40lbs OR until they have only an inch of shell left above their head. My only complaint would be that it's pretty bulky, and so far I haven't been able to get another seat next to it. I can't comment on how it does forward facing because I have only used it rear facing. I'm sure it is pretty reclined forward facing though because it has a natural recline that most other seats don't have.

We bought this carseat because we are having another baby and it was on the list of recommended seats. For now, my 4 yr old daughter is using it, and she LOVES it! It is reclined back even in the forward facing position, but my daughter actually likes that. The "wings" by the head are awesome because when she falls asleep in the car her head doesn't fall down to her chest. It is very comfortable for her to sleep in. It would be nice if Graco would pad the straps more, and it is a bit bulky, but we really love the seat.

    • A. I have a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GL which has a small backseat, but our carseat fit just fine. If plan on having another person back there with the baby you might want to put it on the side. Our 9 year old is 5'2, 125lbs and she just barely fits when its in the middle, so anyone bigger will not work if its there.

    • A. I think it will fit but if you have other passengers it will be uncomfortable for them. I drive a 2002 Envoy and it is kind of a tight fit.

    • A. If you are ready to turn it around to be front facing you will be fine. It is a pretty big seat though and might be pretty tight rear facing.

    • A. I own a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix and I have two of these in my back seat one forward facing and one rear facing and my seven year old sits between them on his booster seat. A little tight but they fit. I dont think you will have a problem.

    • A. if your snugride fit fine then this carseat should fit fine aswell. it may only take an extra inch or two but not much more. Go to Babies r us and ask if you can put one in your car to see how it fits, even if its not the same style cause they are all the same size. I did and I was glad I did it. It helped me adjust to how big it 'LOOKS'

    • A. The carseat is a little on the big side. I have had it in a truck and SUV. In the SUV, the front seat has to be up about midway to allow room. I would assume it would fit in the Jetta though. While it's big, it's not too big to fit in cars.

    • A. The seat is definitely larger than the snug ride. If you have other kids that will sit next to this car seat, they will probably feel squished. I definitely couldn't fit more than two of these car seats in my back seat and i drive a mid size suv.

    • A. No this car seat stays in the car at all times. An infant car seat is all that can be used with a stroller. You put the baby directly in the stroller without a car seat once they're big enough.

    • A. The extra cushion for the seat is nice for smaller babies. I'm not sure how big your newborn is but I'd recommend a different seat for newborns. A carrier is very nice with newborns so they can go in and out of the car with ease and while sleeping. I miss our carrier when we go to the grocery store in case she's sleeping. If you have a newborn you'd have to carry them in the store or get a cart with a build in carrier (I never have luck getting one of the 2 available) or put them in a baby ergo or baby bjorn or moby. Without a carrier your newborn can't sit up and won't have a place to go in the cart. Just in my opinion!

    • A. Like all convertible seats, that depends on the length of the baby's torso. To use a car seat rear facing, the harness must be at or below the shoulders. You should try car-seat.org for great newborn car seat suggestions

    • A. Yes. it has a nice pad for the baby too. Just look at the weight limits to make sure your infant is at least that size. The only thing is you cannot really take it out to use as a carrier.
