Graco - MyRide 65 Convertible Car Seat, Edgemont Dots 4.7 5 233 253
Great seat!! I got this seat yesterday for my son and I already love it! Unlike the other reviews, I don't feel the fabric is 'cheap feeling', I actually thought that it is incredibly soft and comfortable feeling. The straps were semi-easy to move and adjust, I felt that the instructions could have been a little more specific. My only complaint with this seat is that the sides are high so I can't see my son in a rear-facing position. My son also loves it, he is 8 months old and played with the cup holders for the 15 minute ride to the grocery store this morning. 06/11/2009
An excellent car seat from Graco I'm a mother of three and a Child Passenger Safety Technician. When I saw that Graco was making a seat that rearfaced to 40 lbs rather than the standard 35, I jumped at the chance to buy it.Over all, this is a fantastic product that has the potential to revolutionize Child Passenger Safety in the US. We recommend children remain rearfacing as long as possible, to a BARE MINIMUM of TWO YEARS of age. Three or Four is ideal. Forward facing at one year and 20 lbs has lead to severe child injuries and death here in this country. My almost two year old fit in it comfortably with almost 6" of shell over his head. My three year old has more than 2" of shell over her head, meaning she can stay rearfacing in the car until she's around 4 and a half. The cupholders are built into the seat unlike most child seats, and are deep enough to hold a cup without it tipping over. The seat is nice and deep and allows a lot of leg room for rearfacing toddlers and preschoolers, but with the infant insert will allow most newborns to ride safely in it as well.It installs very easily and has separate LATCH belts for both belt paths, meaning no having to switch the LATCH belt when the child moves forward facing around three or four years of age.The only obvious drawback I'm seeing is that there is only one between-the-legs strap position. It fits older kids very nicely, but for newborns, you'll need to pad the area with a cloth diaper or receving blanket to prevent head slumping.I would recommend this to ANY parent looking for a convertible that will last from birth to five or six years AND will allow them to keep their children safely rearfacing for a long time yet. 05/21/2009
Awsome Seat! I bought this seat for my 3y/o who is using it rear facing. I LOVE that this seat rear faces to 40lbs. which will enable me to keep my child rear facing even longer! Its very easy to install with either latch or seat belt, harness tightens evenly & smoothly, will fit a newborn baby beautifully, excellent for children with low muscle tone and the price is fantastic. I don't like the cover because it feels cheap to me but thats my only complaint! 06/05/2009
Good value! The built-in cup holders are great for drinks, snacks, and small toys. They are easy to reach, easy to clean, and just the right size. They are the best I have seen for any car seat.My son just turned two and had been forward facing for the past seven months. After reading the latest safety recommendations, we felt it important to buy a new seat and to swing him around to rear facing again. This seat made the transition easy. He fussed the first time, but has been happy since then. It sits up high so he can still see out the windows, see his big sister next to him, and we put the infant seat-back mirror up again so we can see him. The built in cup holders made the transition easier too as I will no longer be able to reach back to hand him a toy or drink. The fabric does slip off the sides a little, but it does not affect product usage. It is a minor problem that seems to affect all Graco car seats. I don't think it is serious enough to cause someone not to buy this seat. The fabric is high quality and durable.Bottom Line: I feel much better knowing my son can ride rear facing up to 40lbs and then will still be able to use the harness up to 65lbs. We have not owned it very long, but I feel it was a good buy. By the way, his 5 1/2 year old sister fits comfortably in it too and is begging to get rid of her Britax Marathon. She wants the one with the built in storage too! 09/05/2009
