Customer Product Reviews

Rated 3.7 out of 5★ by 52reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Excellent Product Very easy to assemble; yes the pins fit tightly, they need to in order to hold it together under strain - use a hammer and pliars to hold the pins - or a bench vice to drive them in. Have been using this for several months along with weight plates from Walmart and have found the equipment to be highly durable, even under heavy daily use. 03/02/2011
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Absolutely Worth It I can't understand how/why people complained about this product so much, whether putting it together or the quality, etc.. It is so easy to put together (took my husband under 1 minute and a hammer to put the pins in).It is worth the money, especially for use in a home setting and KUDOS to WalMart for going green on the shipping materials.I would definitely recommend this product for the quality, assembly and price. 06/03/2010
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Great Product This was exactly what I was looking for. It took me about 5 minutes to assemble the bar. The pins were a bit tricky but having faced much more complicated assemblies with children's toys it was no big deal. Really glad I made this purchase. 01/26/2010
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Great Product For Beginners And Long Time Lifters. Hello, my name is Alan. I got this for Easter from my mom, because I had previously bought "Gold's Gym 40lb Vinyl Dumbbell Set" and with out surprise you cannot bench press or squat them. So I went to Walmart on Saturday bought this, and got it the next morning. This bar is amazing, any weights fit on it, and you can use it for anything. Curling, Bench Pressing, Squatting, Dead Lifting, etc. The bar weighs approximately 12lbs and it holds up to 200 pounds. It includes a three piece bar that is put into place with two very small pins, and includes two holding clips. The only downfall this bar has, is exhibited to in the process of being assembled, like I stated earlier this bar is assembled with two extremely small pins, they are hit into place with a mallet/hammer into two very small holes. You can see the problem, but once the bar is assembled the bad goes away and the good starts to come. I recommend this to any and everyone, it is well worth the price. 04/10/2012
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Messy oil on it and not user friendly I bought this bar today - while the price was low - when I unpacked it in my spare room I use as a gym; the oil on the bar was brownish, sticky and smelly (not an in-house product) I was afraid it would get on the carpet - it smells also. I tried to wipe some of the oil off but not too successful. Buy this if: 1. you can put it in the garage and 2. if you don't mind struggling to put the pins in. All the negative reviews are correct about the pins. Get bolts to put it together - don't use the pins. Cheap, messy product - I will return. 10/16/2011
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Excellent weight bar I purchased this bar to do some light duty weight training with, with no more that 150lbs. This bar is a perfect value when consideriing weight sets cost about $1 per pound now. Initially when I purchased this item, I thought it screwed together in the middle, but after removing it from the box it comes in 3 sections. Two pieces are the threaded ends, and are solid steel. The center piece is hollow, but a very thick piece of steel which you must use to joint the other 2 pieces together with, using 2 very large roll pins. Roll pins of this type are very strong and will require a hammer to press in. They are designed to be tight so that it does not come apart while in use. Assembly is not difficult if you have some mechanical abilities. Once assembled you are rewarded with a sturdy bar that feels just like an expensive one piece bar. 09/04/2010
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Great Value Yes, you have to assemble this. Yes, you will need a hammer (pliers or a vice also help).Grip the pins with the pliers and give them a good squeeze, line the pin up to the holes. Give it a good solid hit with a hammer. I put a folder over sock over the pin so my hammer wouldn't chip the metal. After one good hit the pin should be slightly seated in the holes. Check this and realign if needed. Now keep hammering it until it's in there. It took me about 90 seconds with a hammer to get both pins in.The bar is probably too short to use with most benches, but works great for other exercises needing a barbell.I've put 150 on it no problem. I believe it's rated to 200 lbs, but it could probably hold more, although I could see regular use of heavier weights cutting down on the bar's lifespan.Overall for the price, I'm very satisfied with this bar to get some extra at home work in. 09/23/2011
Rated 1 out of 5★ by junk Picked up the bar and spent 25 minutes trying to get the pins in the holes to put this bar together. Forget it, you will smash a finger attempting this chore. 11/27/2009
