  • A. The guidelines say 250lbs limit. You could likely push it to 275lbs or so, but for anything over that, I would say no. The machine is little and not designed to hold anything over 250lbs for lengthened period of time.

  • A. It says 250 pounds, so I don't know if it is strict with that or not. It is very sturdy, so I honestly don't know if it would be a problem for you.

  • A. If you use it in the seated position- you should be good to go. Not sure for the standing position. Maybe you can go to the actual Gold's Gym web site to get that information.

  • A. You will need a good sence of balance. Try using two ski poles or walking sticks. I tried standing and working it. It will take some practice.

  • A. I was concerned about this too, even after reading other reviews. I used it for 40 minutes the first day that I got it and I used a wall for the first 15 minutes to balance myself. Once I got used to the motion, it was fine, no problems. After that first day I used it with no wall or support and I don't have any problems. My balance is not the best and I am overweight (obese by BMI standards). So even if you are not fit and thin, you should still be able to stay on it no problem.

  • A. I've never experienced a balance issue with it, it's like walking, so falling off isn't an issue. You may need to hang onto something while getting on it the first few times, but once you're used to it it isn't an issue.

  • A. This machine can be used two ways : sitting so its similar to a recumbent bike. or standing which is like an elliptical. I keep a chair in front of it so i can hold for balance. but after a while u get used to the movement and dont need to hold on all the time.

  • A. I have taken the instructions advice to always step on the lower pedal first. Then I can typically balance fine. The instructions also recommend a chair to be used to hold on to to help with balance. I haven't had to use the chair. It may also be easier for you to use it in the sitting position.

I bought this in February. It was easy to assemble, worked as expected. Just the right size to fit in a small space and quiet. It wasn't until two months ago I really started using in every night. It seized up inside the unit, just as I've seen in several other reviews. However, I called Stamina, the company who imports it for the Golds Gym label. Their information is on the label on the bar in the back of the unit. They said it was still under warranty. I thought I was getting a replacement center section, they shipped me the entire unit! Now that's service! Even though the first stopped working, I would still recommend it. The customer service was great. The new one has been assembled and I will be striding again tonight once my kids are in bed. It's the perfect solution for a busy working mom who can only exercise after the kids are asleep. If you look at the pictures, Stamina also sells the In Motion label. The green sticker unit is the replacement unit they sent and under the green sticker is the Gold's Gym label.

I spend all day behind a desk at a computer and don't get near enough exercise. I wanted to find something I could do while working. I tried a $25 machine about a year ago. It was a piece of junk. I didn't want to spend $97 on this one without seeing it out of the box. I decided to take a chance. It only took a few minutes to put it together. It was heavy and uses a heavy internal flywheel, unlike the $25 variety. This is much better. The motion is a lot smoother. The resistance adjustment is much more consistant. It stays in place and doesn't slide around under my desk. I am very glad I tried it. Exactly what I was looking for. I have to leave a fan on me when I workout at my desk to keep from working up such a sweat. I also take off my shoes or my knees would bump against the desk mainly because I am wearing ShapeUps with very thick(2") soles. I've never used it standing up so I don't put any weight on it to speak of. I have an elliptical at home for that. Maybe it'll last longer than it did for some of the other reviewers.

I love this !!!! I live in an apartment and I go to the gym a lot but I wanted something to do at home when I am watching TV that was small enough for my little apartment. I have had it for a few weeks now and I have been using it a few hours every day when I am sitting on the couch watching TV. I have lost 5 pounds so far and my legs are getting leaner and very nice!!! I am so glad I got this! Why not sit and watch TV and work out at the same time in the comfort of your own home! It's built though and was very easy to put together.

I was going to get a treadmil- but did not want to spend the money intially. I saw this item in walmart and thought it would be a good alternative. It was very easy to put together. It is easy to use. I have been using it standing. But I will start using it more as a sit and watch TV. Great way to work you legs.

This is a great little machine. Its perfect for my apartment. You can work out by standing up which is like an elliptical with no arms or by sitting which is like a recumbent bike. Standing is a little harder until you get a feel for it but i keep a chair in front of me for balance. The seated position is awesome if you just want to relax and watch tv on the couch. Either way its a great workout and the machine is super quiet.
