Why can&#39;t I use these in my home composter?

Our Glad Tall Kitchen Compostable Bags are made from 65% recycled plastic (39% postconsumer and 26% preconsumer). These plastics are designed to be composted in municipal and industrial aerobic composting facilities. As is the case with many companies, we are unable to answer every question we receive about materials in our products due to their proprietary nature.

The Glad 100% Compostable OdourShield Lemon Scent bags are perfectly sized for my compost bin - they were actually a bit bigger than I imagined they would be as they are the smallest size. 
The light lemon scent is fresh and clean. It's nice that it is faintly scented but enough to still cover minor seeping smells. 
I am very impressed that they have managed a plastic compost bag that is 100% compostable. 
I have yet to fill the entire compost bin so my only leftover question would be the durability of the product, but they don't feel flimsy at all so I have high hopes. 
I'd recommend for anyone using a small compost bin in their home.

Clean Lemon Scented Durable Compost Bags

Glad small compost bags are durable and odour eliminating bags for your yard waste, organic garbage as well as litter. I have used this product in its earlier years, and have had issues with it ripping or tearing. This company has improved this while making it more pleasant in odour-eliminating scent. I like the lemon scent better than the citrus scent, as that made me gag. Minimal leaks, no tearing occurs (even had a whole chicken remnant in it!), a very durable product! Still very durable even if you have moist compost in the bag. The bag is even a bit bigger than the container I have, so it makes it easier to have tabs to tie it up properly. I highly recommend this product.

Great product, new and improved

I bought this off for a shoppers army mission and I'm glad I did! This smells amazing, like the dryer sheets. It blocks food smells for 3-4 days. That's the most I've kept the trash in my kitchen, might last longer too. It's the perfect size and also this big pack will last me a really long time. #freeproduct #personalhonestopinion

'Glad' I got this!

Glad 100% Compostable OdourSheild Lemon scent bags are wonderful! I have been finding it hard to enjoy using the small under the counter compost bins because the previous bags I have tried seem to tear easily and the entire thing smells so bad. With these new Glad lemon scent ones I find the smell to be much more manageable and they seem nice and strong so I will not get caught with a tear! I will happily buy these compost bags again and would recommend them to everyone. Thanks Glad for making the compost bins a little more enjoyable!

Great new Compost bags from Glad!

The Glad 100% Compostable Bags, Lemon Scent - Small is a perfect fit for the Kitchen Container I use. What I really like about it is the odour shield. I don't need to change the bag for 3-4 days before I notice an odour. I also like how sturdy the bag is; it doesn't fall apart when I change the bag and dispose of it in my green cart. 

I will receive a Special Rebate for Glad 100% Compostable Bags for my honest opinion.

Composting made easy!

I really liked this product. The Glad compost bags are strong and fit well in my compost bin. They have a pleasant scent and do a good job of containing odours. Good packaging and you don't have to rip a bag from a roll which is a plus. I did find it a bit of a challenge to get the actual bag open as the bags are slippery, but this won't deter me from purchasing this product again in the future.

Exactly what I was looking for!

This product is perfect for anyone that wants to do their part by collecting their organics scraps, but wants to avoid the smells that may come with it. First impressions were good, I was excited to use these bags. When you smell the empty bag, the smell is kind of strange, but it definitely helps cut out the rotting smell. I found that these bags are not big enough for my square little green bin (which I thought was smallest option) So next time I will try slightly bigger bags, or just keep the bag folded in on itself when the lid is shut. These bags definitely save time and potential mess. They keep everything contained. I will most likely be purchasing these bags again.

Simplifies things!

I have lost track of how many times I pulled out a broken bag from the box. It sounds split right now the side so there is no way I can use it. It's a shame because so many bags have been wasted. I won't be buy this brand again. In fact, so many of these bags have been broken I want my money back.

Another broken bag

Terrible.  They are too fragile and rip when opened.  If I'm super careful I can get them open but then they tear as I put them on the can.   The only reason I gave them 2 stars (and the only reason I even use them still) is because they do a good job keepong smells in check.

Bags tear.  Every, single, time!!

I recently bought a compost bin and wanted to use the compostable bags for collecting my kitchen scraps before putting them into the bin. I didn't learn that they weren't suitable for backyard composting until I read the fine print on the box. I didn't see any mention of that when reading the product information on the website. I can't evaluate how it works for municipal composting.

I will say that the delivery came when expected and the return was easily made.
