Replacement Grill Works Great & Easy to Clean

    Customer review by CaliforniaTwo

    5.0 stars by CaliforniaTwo

After 7 years of use, the teflon on my older model George Foreman Grill began to come off. So, I replaced it with the GR144 model. I've only used the new grill twice, but the results have been great. Over the years I've found that cleaning the grill is very easy if you use this tip I received from my sister; (1) Remove the cooked items from the grill and unplug it, (2) Saturate a paper towel in water and place it across the area of the grill where the items were cooked and make sure a drip tray is in place, (3) close the lid of the grill, (4) go enjoy your dinner, (5) after dinner is finished the cooking residue has been steamed and is soft enough to easily wipe off with a couple paper towels.

I personally use a smaller grill, because I am single. A friend saw mine and fell in love. To keep her from permanently borrowing mine, I bought this size for her and her family of 7. She uses it almost every day.

    Family-Size George Foreman Grill

I have owned the George Foreman Grills for many years, but this is the largest one I have owned. It is not heavy to carry and the surface is big enough for 6 or 7 burgers. The only drawback is the electrical cord is not very long. I would totally recommend the grill. Clean-up is a snap.

    • Yes, paninis come out great... I find it very easy to clean... I leave my GF Grill on & wipe with a damp cloth.. Come clean with no problem, just be careful not to burn yourself...

    • For cleaning... no! Just heat it up and then take a sponge (NOT THE GREEN ROUGH SIDE) and after you squeeze some water on it, just wipe it off with a wet sponge. Even after chicken mess left on it (by accident) for 2 days, cleaned off easy as all get out.

    • I tried to grill a ham & cheese sandwich for my husband. It was okay. Heated well & melted cheese. Grilling plates are NOT removable but unit is easy to wipe clean.

    • Pretty sure you can use it for paninis though I haven't tried it yet. And it isn't difficult to clean AT ALL if you clean it right away.

    • I make pannis on it. It works very well for that. Cleaning it isnt too bad. It is non stick and the grooves are not that deep. I wipe it clean with a few paper towels after it cools without too much trouble. Check the Hamilton Beach grill that can cook open or closed though. I think I would have rather had it.

    • I think you can make a pannini with this although I have not tried it. It is not that difficult to clean. Just with a sponge wipe it down and then with a napkin to clean the exess. I can get a little messy if your sponge is soapy and wet and it can drip off but I don't find it difficult.
