Genesis V2100 26" Mountain Bike 3.6 5 17 18
my son loves this bike . we had purchased a Schwinn and had to return it because how cheap it was made ,the frame bent in a week.. this bike was very easy to put together and we just purchased new pedals as the plastic ones are very cheap.... Great bike.... 11/04/2011
I bought my bike it looks good and it is a really good bike,,, First get solid metal pedals about 20 bucks 2nd go to a bike store after front brakes wear out just get a new caliper rotor and all is about 60 bucks and get one with easy to buy better pads .. It has loose steel ball bearings which is a plus, its heavy but not bad its a hoss and tough it has alot of shimano parts very nice if you want a even lower 34 tooth first gear instead of 28 tooth like it has there about 30 bucks installed at a bike shop .. me and my friend have exact bikes and we mud, ride hard and have put them through paces if you do what i said and up grade you will have a nice bike even if you ride hard just cause its wal mart dont dis it till u try what i said with upgrades and all stil under 300 dollars good bike i dont need a trek i like my genesis. thumbs up if your not in alot of mud or rocks or mud holes you will likely only need to add metal pedals.. peace 04/05/2012
was a well rounded good choice This bike was cheap (price). I liked the fact that it has a light alloy frame, and dual suspension. These are the main factors which contributed to my purchase. See I wanted a bike for daily commute as well as some off-road fun. GREAT for both. BUT...I needed to do a few things first. The brakes, (front and rear) needed to be re-calibrated, and the cheap plastic pedals needed to be changed to something a bit more durable ASAP. And let me just tell you that you should 100% change the pedals because they will begin to crack and then just fall right off leaving you with nothing but the axle to the pedal. Another thing, these bikes...ALL the bikes purchased at Walmart are assembled by the employees there, so expect to do a few minor adjustments, aligning the handlebars, checking pressure in the tires, and aligning the seat with the frame. Now if you're looking to do so extreme jumps with his bike i would highly recommend updating the front shocks and the crankset, the shafts are made of plastic needless to say. So overall I would recommend this bike totally 99%. Happy riding! 03/30/2012
Its a nice starter bike Overall I am really happy with the bike except for a few things. First, on my third ride, one pedal already broke.......3 rides......less then 2 miles each and the pedal is already toast. So I recommend if your going to get this bike, make sure you buy another set of pedals and think about if you would rather just spend it on a better quality bike. Only other complaint I have is the seat is not very comfortable at all. But that could just be me expecting a softer seat. So aside from those two things I really enjoy the bike. Its shifting is great and overall it rides really smooth and stops quick. Check the picture of the pedal to see how cheap they are. 02/09/2012
