Not sure just what you want to do but I can answer the &quot;extension-cord&quot; question; it is not an extension-cord. 
To get technical, an extension-cord will have a voltage-drop and that is not good; the longer the extension-cord, the voltage-drop gets worse.. 
This GE Grounded 6-outlet tap will not have a voltage-drop like an extension-cord would have.

I want to plug 2 into the same three prong grounded outlet.The shape of the freezer plugs won&#39;t allow it. Is it safe  to use the 6 plug adapter?

can i plug in my APC Sine Wave UPS, 1350VA UPS Battery Backup

I purchased one of these to replace an outlet I was always having to unplug something to plug something else in.  Works great. Very easy to install.  I can easily fit 4 items into this outlet when one or two of the plugs are adapters.  Nice clean looking appearance.  I started buying one with each order I placed and changed out most of my outlets just for the convenience of it.

Ok, but not surge protected. I don't plug electronics into this one. I have others with surge protectors and use them for electronics.

I put this in my kitchen. I can use my kitchen items without the hassle of plugging  them in.  You will overload your system if you have too many items running at the same time.

Precisely what I needed; don't understand why it is not available in any store. I ordered three of them for this new home.

I use these in outlets that that are easy to reach for guests that may need to charge their cell phones.

Useful items with a  quick delivery.

Not sure what everyone is talking about, but this does not accommodate 6 plugs due to the close proximaty of the outlets.  Most modern plugs have little flanges around them.  This prevents you from putting 3 plugs next to each other.  Only the two outer plugs can be used.  Furthermore, mind came with a factory defect.  I had to dig out some quite thick plastic of one outlet hole.  See pic.
