Rated 5 out of 5★ by Jon1 7 winter seasons on the same set of Altimax Arctic I have been using the same set of General Altimax Arctic tires on my 2005 Toyota Corolla since the winter of 2008/09 and I think this winter (2015/16) I will finally replace them with a new set of General Altimax Arctic tires. They are showing some wear and are getting noisy due to the wear pattern on them. They are still shedding standing water pretty well though. Every year about mid-November I put them and will leave them on until mid-March. These tires have been great. I live along the west side of Michigan and we get a lot of lake effect snow that keeps the roads covered in snow. It's like my Corolla has 4-wheel drive. On my commutes to work (30 miles one way) I can travel on the highway at speeds that most 4-wheel drive trucks and SUV's wont match. I feel very confident with these tires with their good ability to shed slush and snow. Stopping, cornering and take off grip is great with these. I do recommend that you use a full set of four tires, I can see why they say not to only use 2 on the front as the rear end will slip and slide as you go around corners. I plan to purchase my new set from Walmart soon. I've shopped around and they have the best prices anywhere. 11/28/2015
Rated 5 out of 5★ by DoubleD Best winter tire! I would have never imagined tires could be this good on snow and ice! I live in Cincinnati oh, and drive a 89 camry with no abs or traction control. Makes braking and Corning on icy roads comfortable and safe! Also great tires for heavy rain without hydro planing! No complaints so far would recommend to anyone who has to drive in snow, ice, or heavy rain! Also great/quiet ride with exceptional dry traction in warm weather for winter tires!!! Makes all the difference having tires for the season since I have 2 wheel sets summer and winter set! 01/12/2016
