No, this product is for installation in a window.

I suppose it could but you&#39;ll have to deal with a water problem. It has to drip water as the heat hits the condencer and makes it cold. As it gets colder it will start to ice up and the heat will cause some water drops pretty regularly. I wouldn&#39;t recommend it in the house but outside in a gazebo or something like that with a water tray under it and not minding to change it often I guess it would be ok.

This is a &quot;window air conditioner.&quot; The way air conditioners work is that they absorb warm/hot air and then dispense it out of the room/house it is in. If you will walk outside a working window air conditioner and stand directly in front of the condenser (the back of the unit where the coils are) you will be face to face with blowing warm/hot air. This is the heat that is being absorbed from the house/room and removed out the back of the unit.

Hence, if you place the unit on a desk/table INSIDE the room/house to be cooled, you will not gain a thing other than to waste electricity. The heat absorbed by the evaporator unit in the front of the air conditioner will be blown right back into the room/house via the condenser, that will still be in the room!

If you can&#39;t mount an air conditioner in a window (sometimes window openings just aren&#39;t wide enough OR there isn&#39;t/aren&#39;t any window(s) or install via a cutout in a wall, I would recommend that you look into a floor-standing air conditioner. Although more expensive and less efficient, they allow you to exhaust the hot air via a 5 or 6&quot; hose (similar to a clothes dryer) through either a window opening or a hole in the wall that you will have to cut out.

Yes, you get two side panels (I assume that is what you really meant to block air from coming in from the outside) one for each side and around 8 screws and a window block L to keep people from opening the window from the outside.

You will still need duct tape to cover the perimeter around the air conditioner. and the side panels. Don&#39;t won&#39;t no wasps flying in. :)

This air conditioner impressed me. Not by the simple cold air but by the fan pushing the cold air. What a force to be reconed with and its a energy star efficient unit. The one reason I bought this air conditioner is because it has a remote but everything else that accompanies it makes it one of the coolest purchases I have ever made.
