Rated 4 out of 5★ by MtPhotoguy Nice Generator, but hard to start This is a very nice generator, very quiet when running, handles the loads that I bought it for. The only things I can really be a bit in the negative about, it is difficult to start, but once you get it going, it does the job. The ability to switch to load based power is nice. I would buy another if needed, now that I have figured out how to start it. 10/06/2012
Rated 3 out of 5★ by wanttogocamping does the job Followed directions and it was hard to start the first time. Ran for about 1 hour on initial start up worked microwave fine, halogen lamps also. Louder than what I thought, and case vibrates as loud as exhaust. But for price compared to Honda's well worth the $$. Hoping will start easier the more it is used. took ten pulls, waited a minute, then started on second pull, yes I did prime and follow directions 08/07/2013
Rated 4 out of 5★ by NewMoonFarmer Good value overall Good value overall. Purchased for use with our fifth wheel. Powerful enough to meet our needs. A little hard to start in colder weather. Changed oil as recommended but switched to synthetic and starting in colder weather improved dramatically. Under normal use the unit ran almost six hours on a tank of gas. A little louder than expected, but better than our previous generator. Not a bad bargain when compared to the price of a Honda. Made in the USA!!! 12/12/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Smkn Economical, good looking, and reasonably priced. So far it has done everything I have asked without a single problem. Love it! 07/01/2012
Rated 4 out of 5★ by MozeKnoz Great generator for the price It's no Honda, a little louder, a little slower on the auto idle sensing, and you can't parallel them. But about half the price I'd buy it again.. 08/21/2013
Rated 3 out of 5★ by JamesD123 Loud, hard starting when new, 2000w maybe It powered the small appliances and small power tools I tried with it. A 1500w heater worked ok but a 1HP 15amp air compressor was too much for it. The air compressor probably needs a bigger gen for the initial startup. I'm guessing 2500 watt was needed or this generator is over rated.Once in a while the generator will die if you put a sudden heavy load on it. At least it did when I first got it.It's loud. The noise has a more metallic sound to it than most generators, probably from the muffler. I've heard louder for sure but a lot of the of inverter gens in it's class that I've heard are quieter. The generator vibrates quite a bit as well. It can move around a bit even with the rubber feet if it's on a smooth enough surface. The generator is fairly easy to pull for starting but it tends to start hard. Starting does seem to be getting better with time. I put some sea foam through the generator and that seemed to help with starting and it ran a little smoother afterwards. Perhaps the carb was a little gummed up from testing at the factory or from the original purchaser. I have a hunch that's why it was returned though. If you are using it for backup power during storms I'd give it a test start each time before you might need it as it took 15+ minutes to get running one time.Given it's temperamental nature I don't store it with fuel in it for more than a month or two.I got it at a pretty good discount due to it being a return where I bought it from so for what I paid it was a good deal. At regular price I'd certainly look at other models. It is a bit smaller and lighter than some of the similarly rated generators I looked at. If you are going to be moving it around much it might be a good choice. 10/21/2013
