I LOVE this pressure washer! The directions are clear and concise. Please read the entire manual first! I did and this pressure washer gave me excellent results! I first used it to clean a wooden fence before I started on the house. It worked like a champ! The first day I used it, I used it for about 3-4 hours. I had to stop just a few times to replenish the gas and to move it to another location, but it started right back up without missing a beat. I then pressure washed my house and then did the entire driveway. I'm a women 50+ years old, and I enjoy using this machine. It's not heavy, yet it's durable. I used it continuously another day for 6 hours and it started up right away without any hesitation. Hummm. What else can it pressure wash.....

Shipping was faster than expected and power washer was better than expected. Shipping for items that contain hazardous material are shipped with special handling so i expected it much later but it arrived early!! I opened the box did a quick assembly added oil and gas and it fired up after a few pulls. I used it on my deck and house for 3 weeks and no problems! It does the job of an expensive unit at half the cost. Wheels and frame are solid, engine and pump are strong, has a kill switch and i like the wand and tip holder. I would recommend this unit for any home owner!!!

I do not see any mention of a detergent attatchment. How could I use a bleach or detergent with this model?
by Compbug 3/25/2013
  • I think you just attached the plastic tubing and put the end with the filter in the jug of cleaner. I don't know if I would use bleach as it tends to corrode.

  • It comes with a hose that can be dropped into your detergent bucket. The hose floated to the top of the bucket, so I just held it down with a small flat rock I had so that it stayed at the bottom of the bucket.

  • It doesn't contain a detergent tank. I bought a pressure washer cleaner at Walmart. It had directions for mixing (one part detergent to three parts water) and is applied by hand. I used a blaster to reach high spots. It has to sit on the siding for a few minutes to work. Then you can rinse it off with the presure washer. Worked perfectly on my vinyl siding.

  • Pretty certain you simply mix your solution in a bucket and put the intake hose into solution; do ot believe this unit has an actual attachment for that.

  • The 2500psi Power Washer, model 5987, does not have a chemical tank accessory. The unit utilizes a siphon hose to siphon your soap or detergent from a separate bucket or container to the pump. Only soaps made for pressure washers, or liquid auto soap, should be utilized. You want to ensure that the soap is not a bleach or acid based soap as it could damage the pump. Always make sure to put the pickup tube in clean water and flush the system after each use as described in the manual.

  • unleaded. minimum of 87 octane. Up to 10% ethanol is O.K. I use ethanol free unleaded when I can find it (in all my small engines)

  • Yes it is good for cleaning vinyl siding, however, we have only used our with water. The pressure was all that was needed.

  • I used product called Jomax. You can get it at Lowes and the directions tell you how much bleach, product and water to mix together.

  • The 2500psi Power Washers would be suitable for tasks such as cleaning siding if the proper nozzle is used. Using an incorrect nozzle may produce a stream of water strong enough to damage surfaces. Unintentional damage to surfaces is not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. Always ensure you are aiming the wand in a safe direction, as the high pressure stream of water this equipment produces can cut through skin and its underlying tissues, which could lead to serious injury. Further information on the nozzles included and their suggested uses can be found in your owner’s manual. Only soaps made for pressure washers, or liquid auto soap, should be utilized. You want to ensure that the soap is not a bleach or acid based soap as it could damage the pump. Always make sure to put the pickup tube in clean water and flush the system after each use. The pumps on our power washers are not metered, as it is a direct suction from the tank through the pump. Meaning, the concentration of the cleaning agent does not change as it goes through the power washer, and the mix rate in the chemical tank will be pulled through the high pressure water stream, staying the same through the spray gun. There are many factors that can affect the dilution rate required for the chemical tank, such as the GPM rate, the viscosity of the detergent being used, and the size of the orifice on the soap nozzle you are using. The 2500psi power washer has a rating of approximately 2.3 GPM when running at full throttle; you may be able to use this GPM rating to compare to the recommendations for your particular cleaning agent.
