The little receiver stores underneath the mouse. Turn it over and you should see it.

It is on the bottom of the mouse and is about 3/16 of an inch by 5/8 of in inch. It is a standard USB. Remove it from the mouse, plug it into your computer's USB port and away you go.

Pressed into bottom of mouse. Its about half inch long and pressed into top portion underneath if flipped over. Just pull out and press into usb port in computer

The nano usb plug is in the underside of the mouse for safe keeping. All you have to do is plug it into your pc and your ready to go!

I read numerous reviews on as many different sites as I could find and none were very encouraging. I decided to do the Walmart site to store, because if it had problems, I could take it back to a store and not have to ship it somewhere. I did purchase Walmart's replacement plan for a few extra bucks just to be safe. I've been using this daily for 2 weeks now and I love it. Now, I am using this with my desktop only, so its just about 2 feet from the receiver, so I have had no connectivity or reliability issues so far. The instructions are useless as is Gearheads website, but all I had to do was insert the batteries and put the receiver into a USB port and the computer did the rest. There are no light indicators for numbers lock, etc, so be aware. It only screwed up my logon password the first time I used it, but after hitting numbers lock, I have had no issues since. There are no on/off buttons for the keyboard or mouse. After a short time of inactivity, the mouse will shut down, but a click and a little mouse movement brings it back to life. I cannot attest to battery life at this time, but later I will post an update. All in all ,for the price, I am very pleased with this setup and if there are any problems in the next 2 years, Walmart will handle it. I would buy this again!

Great keyboard

Is a good product so far. LOVE the smaller size! I never used the keys on the right of the normal size keyboards anyway! Wish it came in colors though.

This is truly a mini keyboard as well as a small mouse. I have small hands and the size of the mouse is a good fit. (keyboard is 15" long, mouse is about 3 1/2", the size of a deck of cards or slightly shorter, good for small hands) This unit auto synchs itself, just plug in the USB clip and go. I have been using this set for a few weeks with no problems. The range is good. I am 5-10 ft or so from base at all times with no trouble. I am still using the original batteries and I am online at times several hours a day. The keyboard and mouse shut of on their own when you stop using them. To wake the mouse up simply click a button the pointer will appear on screen. The mouse is a little squirrely at times. What I mean by that is occasionally the cursor/pointer wiggles a bit, but it stops as quickly as it starts. The keyboard does not have a seperate numeric keypad. It does have the alpha to numeric option within the alpha keys (which seems unnecessary, but you see it all the time). Sometimes if keys get bumped this feature may turn itself on (my dog often lays by me and likes to rest his head on the cool keyboard) if this happens, simply press 'alt' then 'num lock' and it will turn of the numeric alpha keys. Also if you have the problem of this feature being engaged every time you start your computer, just turn off the number lock feature in your computer bios.
The keyboard is quiet, the keys respond nicely. The hot buttons work well, but I really miss volume hot buttons. I used those all the time on my old wireless set. That would be the one feature that would give this set 5 stars is volume hot buttons. The keyboard and mouse are made well, they have a nice smooth rubber like comfort to the touch finish. The keyboard has a good weight for its size, it does not appear cheap or flimsy. On the under side of the mouse is a groove, I believe this is for storing the USB clip for travel. I am ill and in bed much of the time and the mini size makes it convenient to use in bed. Since the range is good it would be great for using with your TV/computer set-up, which is what I do. My tower (computer) is plugged into my Vizio and I am able to use the TV remote to control volume, so it is great for internet and watching movies I download or view online. If you are looking for a mini keyboard/mouse set I recommend giving this a try. It is priced well and Gear Head seems to be at the forefront making quality electronics. Now if only it came in pink...I hope this review is helpful to you. (I am using this set with Windows 7 and Internet Exporer 9)

Mini keyboard & mouse, wireless works well

I primarily bought this for the keyboard, but since it came with the mouse I thought fantastic.
But got it home, keyboard is perfect for what I needed it for, but the mouse does not work.

Just don't feel like taking it back and having to wait for another since they don't sell in the store.

Disappointed

Unlike other reviewers, the mouse worked great but some of the number keys didn't work. I like the size and feel of the keyboard otherwise. The mouse works great, but you have to make a click on the mouse when the computer is coming out of sleep mode to see the cursor. I'm going to try another one on an exchange as it will be a great value for a Macintosh peripheral if it works at twenty two bucks.

Defective keyboaard

THE GOOD: The keyboard has a nice solid feel and a great form factor. The tiny Nano Receiver is also a great space saving idea, especially since it REPORTEDLY operates both the keyboard and mouse using only one USB port.

THE BAD: The mouse never would work on any computer I tried it on. GearHead was willing to replace the entire set, (meaning mouse and keyboard together), but expected me to pay for shipping / insurance / handling to return the defective unit to them.

While GearHead's email Tech Service was prompt and courteous in answering my emails, the same can not be said regarding their online RMA service which took several days to respond to my inquiry.. and then... wanted me to again fill in their online form.

I just returned the unit for a refund and purchased a competitor's offering which worked right out of the box like you would expect a brand new product to.

Great Keyboard / Lousy Mouse

My purchase of Gear Head Mini Wireless Keyboard With Optical Mouse was a long wait and then defective upon arrival. I understood it had NO number pad, yet the right side of keyboard has numbers come up instead of the letters when the keys are pressed.
I was surprised when i found the product was through Wal Mart but took a chance anyway - Total disappointment.
