Great GPS for Geocaching! I was torn between the Magellan Explorist GC & the Garmin Dakota 10, and upon reading reviews I sprang for the Garmin, boy did I make the right choice! This unit locks on satellites IN THE HOUSE usually in less than 10 seconds! WOW! Paperless geocaching is very easy to do on this unit, and saves a lot of time planning a trip. I've had both Garmin and Magellan in the past and I found that Garmin was usually the most unuser friendly units that were out there, not so anymore! I've been able to go through all operations basically without even looking at the manual! And as far as operating temperature, my old Magellan would get "stupid" around 30 degrees Fahrenheit, and sometimes lock-up until the unit was warmed-up, the Garmin has a operation temp. of 150 to -5 below. I went out geocaching in 20 degree weather and this unit put me on the cache every time! Should work great for ice fishing! This Garmin unit has changed me from a Magellan user to a all the way Garmin customer in a week! 01/23/2012
Awesome! Took some time to get it set up with all the maps, etc and figure out how to operate some of the stuff. But I love it and take it everywhere! Its a great investment as a forestry student and an avid bicyclists and hiker. With both topo and city maps it makes a great navigator. The Geo caching is awesome and I love the adventure of finding treasure and will put together my own geo caches this spring. Awesome product! 03/22/2011

great black friday weekend price the main reason i bought this model garmin dakota10 gps was the price,i was comparing prices online and walmart.com price for this unit was 145. 00,cabelas,bestbuy,basspro,and several others were 245.00 and higher for the same thing,the price since then has gone back up.only tried the garmin out one time but seems to work fine, i didnt want to spend a lot for a gps nor do i need a lot of features,this is the second hand held gps i have owned,the first was a magellan,it also worked fine but was stolen. 12/26/2011
