First things first .., Yes it has a turntable - 12 1/2 inch, glass. It's average size. Yes it has a light. Heats fast, 1100 Watts. Has instant buttons and a timer. Has a clock. $49.00 with free shipping its the best deal anywhere. Get this microwave ! Now the story .., I went to Walmart because my expensive, high wattage, 15 month old Panasonic microwave bit the dust. The door open button broke, Just like my last two microwaves. I think they put that button on so it will brake faster. I had my first microwave 16 years before it went south but it did not have the fancy button. So I bought the cheapest thing in the store. A Rival 0.7 cu ft, 700 watts, $49.00. Worked great but it was small, and took 3 minutes to heat up my 16 oz coffee (my old Panasonic did it in two minutes#, just holds my 10 1/4 inch plates. It was nice but just too small so I just ordered this Galanz online. It's the same price and its larger, 1.1 cu ft and 1100 watts #1500 is highest you can get#. This is a full sized microwave and almost boiled my coffee in two minutes. Almost as quiet as the little Rival and much quieter than the old stainless steel Panasonic monster. Smells like new plastic when you get it but yeah, I like it. No idea how long its going to last, hopefully they will no longer sell them by the time it breaks but its seams as sturdy as most/any #it has a door button to break#. I don't see any Warranty info on it anywhere. Unless you want a small or a gaint microwave I think for $49.00 you can't beat this deal with a stick. Free FedEx delivery only took 3 days #not 7 like the Walmart page said).

I wasn't sure about getting the Galanz, because I had never heard of this brand before, but I love it. It is very easy to use. The price was VERY affordable. The exact same type (size and power) in my previous model/brand was twice the price! I really like the popcorn feature. It goes by weight of package, so no more burnt popcorn!

    • Yes, there is a power setting where you can set it from 100% (the normal setting) down to 10%, in increments of 10%, so any setting from 10% to 100%.

    • Yes, the power level can be changed anywhere from 10% power to full power. Press the power level button, then enter 1 for 10% power, 2 for 20% power, etc. You can even do two levels of this. For example, you could program your food to cook for 5 minutes at 80% power and then to cook for 3 minutes at 60% power = Time Cook/5/Power Level/8/Time Cook/3/Power Level 6/Start.

    • If you want to enter your own time, just press timed cook first and then enter the numbers. Otherwise if you press 1 it cooks for one minute, 2 for 2 minutes and so on. I really like that feature.

Does the cooking complete reminder go on and on or is it just once?
    by JohnT 7/19/2013
    • So far, it has gone off 3 times before I took the food out. Not sure if it keeps on going, but it goes for at least 3 times. It has helped me remember that food is in there. Sometimes I forget, which is why I bought this microwave, to remind me.
      by microbrain9/1/2013

    • the reminder seems to come on periodically, should you not hear the first beep or not get to it right away; a good feature.

    • It reminds you until you open the door. Which is good when you are cooking dinner and forget you had something in the microwave :-)

    • I am JohnT who submitted this question. (They wouldn't allow me to use the nickname even though I signed in). Those who said the beep continues on are correct. It sounds about every 90 seconds I'd say. It's not overly loud and is quick, but it will won't stop until you open the door. I let it go on for 8 or 9 times. I am so pleased with this microwave that the beeping nuisance is a small price to pay.
