Cheap, functional, and has limitations. It is the least expensive random timer that I could find and it does that job quite well. It is basically a single switch timer with a weeks worth of switch actions on a single dial. The randomness depends on how the switches are setup by the user. It is pretty inexact as to what time it turns a device on and a device off, but that does not hurt its purpose of making household devices appear to be operated at random. It should not be used to time appliances or lights that have to be on/off at an exact time. Its physical appearance is more pleasing than typical timers. 04/04/2010
Works, but is confusing. It's hard to tell what time you are setting the device for. The time settings are confusing at best. It's nice that it has the option for random settings each day of the week but you cannot be precise on the times. You may not even know what time you are actually setting things to come on and off at. But if random is what you're looking for and precision is not a concern, then this is an affordable option.Example on the time settings: they say 10,6,2, in white and blue if you understand what that means - and yes, in that order - which appears to be 8 hours but it says each segment represents 1hr 45 min. And I have never sat down to figure it out. It would be nice if someone has figured it out, if they would write a review.Oh and I've owned this for about 10 years, so I guess it does stand the test of time if take care of. 05/26/2011
